Ole and Rashford have been named Manager of the month and Player of the month.

Well deserved and hope it continues!

So glad Mourinho has been booted out of your club, he was ruining Rashford.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s already becoming a bit of a myth tbf, Rashford showed great improvement this season (before Ole arrived) in terms of his impact on matches, he was setting up and scoring goals agains Southampton, Fulham, Bournemouth etc.

Rashford is a quality youngster with a great attitude. He was always going to impove. That doesn't mean that his progress hasn't been stifled by being played out of position

It’s not so much the position and more the set up which was having a stifling impact on Rashford. He’s a forward, all through the youth teams and at senior level he’s shown himself capable of performing different roles in different positions.

He’s not just a cf that needs to be played through the middle to have an impact. He’s a more rounded player now through playing games out wide, in my opinion. And it’s still a position he can play for us going forward.

I think there has been development for Rashford under Mourinho, just not at the rate we’d have hoped for. But he’s shown a great application to follow instruction and not let his head go down even if he wasn’t performing well.

Mourinho spoke many times about Rashford’s mentality and work ethic. And while it was clearly tested with the way he has been used these last few years, I don’t think you could ever accuse Rashford of losing confidence and falling by the wayside like many youngsters would have, which is why he played so many minutes under Mourinho.

Mourinho is the devil incarnate, as far as I’m concerned, but I do feel that there are tactical and mental aspects that will make him a stronger player from working with Mourinho.

For me that’s the major difference between him and Martial, and why I feel Rashford will be the better player long term, if he isn’t already.

Mourinho isn’t the coach he was, and he clearly struggled to instill that strong mentality in players that was a hallmark of his coaching before, but I have a belief that some of this has been at play with Rashford, and the player and managers after will benefit from it.

There was a clear improvement from Rashford this season which began under Mourinho and Ole has benefited from (and has continued since taking charge) which Jose should be credited for, he certainly wasn’t “ruining” Rashford.

As I said, he is a talented player who was always going to improve. But he had been played out of position and that had hampered his progress as a striker. His finishing would be much better had he been used properly and also coached properly. Still some way to go in that respect, but certainly improving from playing up top and under Ole.

The huge difference in rashfords recent form is as much down to his position on the pitch. When mourinho played him out wide he was mostly in his own half slightly in front of the full back far too deep but to rashfords credit he got on with it and done what was asked of him. In fairness Southgate has always shown great faith and belief in him

Elvis, I don’t know whether that’s a response to my points but if it is I find it very weak. Playing out of position (which he’s not actually doing considering he only recently became a striker) ruining him just doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

And to put the icing on the cake Phil Jones has signed a new contract!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll tell you something else, Phil Jones has just signed a new contract too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All we need now is a new contract for Phil Jones and it’ll be the best start to a weekend since the last really good start to a weekend
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just chiming in, Phil Jones hasn't been injured yet since signing. All is well.
