Yes that was when I got supporting too, had the pleasure of meeting Waggy and recently Hibbitt at London Wolves Xmas lunches, Richards was my favourite growing up, unlikely our current stars will stay together for as long as those guys

Doug was my absolute hero when I was at school, certainly knew how to find the net, including a hat-trick against Leicester his old club.
Waggy was a real old-fashioned winger (similar to today's Costa I would say but mostly on the left). Provided dozens of goals for the Doug.
John Richards was without doubt the classiest of the 3 and a natural goal scorer, his total only to eclipsed by Bully. One of the best players I've ever seen in the old gold.
At the same time as those 3 we also had other stars including Kenny Hibbitt, Jim McCalliog and Mike Bailey. For a "golden" era from 1969 to 1974 all 6 played together. This coincided with the time I became an ardent supporter - totally spoilt.
I think all of the above 6 players would have played in the Premier League today.
Great times.

JR was my first Wolves hero, I was only aware of the The Doog and Waggy towards the end of their Wolves careers.

I was in the North Bank when The Doog played his last match. Came on as a substitute against Leeds. Think it was the last home game that season. Mid 1970s.
