City have just made fools of Chelsea completely, and are an absolutely unbelievably good side, the best side in PL history for me.
Yet, we are level on points and have a game in hand. We are still in the driving seat. Shows just how good this Liverpool side is. Without City in the picture we'd be winning the league at a canter.
For the all the Liverpool fans feeling down about today, in reality it was always going to be 3 points going to City; it's not these games where they slip up. Their three big slip ups are Newcastle, Palace and Leicester. Complacency will be their downfall. We just have to capitalise next time they slip up - and they will.
Ridiculous really

Wasn't this the same exact argument United made last year. Liverpool could just as well drop off next season like United.

Without Real and Barca Atletico would be winning it at a canter.
Thing is there happens to be two teams that are far better above them!

Unlikely. Our progression is clear. United had a third season Mourinho and we all know what happens there.

City to win the league on GD in my opinion. We should have scored 6 yesterday but was wasteful. City, on the other hand, are clinical.
Missed chances are going to cost us I think.

Without all the teams bar Huddersfield they’d win the league and get relegated

I'll take it

It’s the champions league that might do for City’s title chances. They should beat Schalke comfortably, and were they to get 1 of the other major contenders in the quarters/Semi they might rest a few in the preceding league game/not be at 100%.

All joking aside, I seen many of my fellow Liverpool fans suggesting that City could stumble in these 3 fixtures and they’ve come out of them with 9 points and a huge surge in GD.
Liverpool will need an almost perfect end to the season to land this title because City could win every game between now and May.
I’ve seen many posters stating that City will drop points eventually. Not necessarily. Liverpool’s draws will have given them renewed optimism.

Everybody keeps saying city would win every game but look at the Leicester Palace and Newcastle games. Absolutely nobody expected that.

past form is no assurance of present or furutre form.
what do we know:
a) city play league cup final, fa cup 5th and last 16 of CL.
b) City want and desire to win all 3 cups.
Thus its reasonable to infer that up to late april city will want to be playing 2 games a week.
The question then becomes....
what will liverpool be doing then?
Really the only reason city drop points at the business end of the season when every point matters is they have injuries and a fixture crunch that takes the edge off their game.
At this point city can still hit 98 points.
It is thus reasonable to give them a range of 92-98 points as likely final points tally.
LFC can hit 101 points still.
Really If city hit the low end 92... then LFC need 93. thats 28 points from 12... or 9 wins and 1 draw
9-1-2 record
If they hit the top end I can't see LFC winning 11 and drawing only 1 to get 99... just don't with utd away, chelsea and spurs.
I think city need to draw 3 games for LFC to win this.... thats my view.
Games they MIGHT drop points in
Bournemouth away. (unlikley but more posisble that home game)
Utd away (key game IMO)
Palace away
Spurs H (key game)
Burnley away
Brighton away is last day and brighton look in slight trouble today unlikely too but last gasp drama possible.
so for me i'm looking at a sum total of 5 games city might just mess up in... and 6 they really shouldn't (watford, west ham, fulham, cardiff, Leicester)
Again look to LFC fixtures
We might afford 1 draw and 2 losses IF we manage to see city draw 3.
Utd away
watford home
Everton away
Burnely Home
Fulham Away
Spurs home.
southampton away
Cheslea home
huddersfield home
newcastle away
wolves home
........
I hope that puts perspective on it. On any given day theres games there you might say LFC wins that but ON THE DAY with the opposition needing points badly, away games, CL ties around the time etc etc
well.... I think LFC need to beat utd away at old trafford, and beat everton away to give us a chance.
