Morning Alll... Looking forward to tomorrow !!! It's a "free Hit" as far as I'm concerned.... Just hope we can go out and really have a go. I know the injuries don't help but this is the biggest club competition so hopefully we can really go and put on a show (after all, This, by the clubs own admission is their "superbowl" not much point keep making Top 4 if you're gonna go out with a wimper !!!!..... As great as the recent results have been, the performances have been pretty shlte
Anyway, on to my main point. Lots of discussion here of late re the Erikson & Toby contracts, just a little concerned that the Ramsey's deal (good for him BTW) sets a worrying trend. Its one thing to be at a big club, winning trophies, getting paid on par with your peers BUT here's the problem with clubs like Spurs..... The trophy haul & wages are never gonna be enough to keep players and make them sign long contracts.... Especially for those who have given good service.
I think we all know Levy isn't gonna let guys walk for free (after the mess with Toby, Called Levy's bluff) and if you were Eriksen there's no reason to do anything. I do fear he will be sold this Summer. Just hoping the club are planning for this & for once are being proactive with scouting etc.
I think the Eriksen situation is by far the most important item of business this summer. Whether we can keep him (doubt it) or what we do with the money could determine our success in whats gonna be a huge season in 2020

Very underrated player. People who don't understand football don't appreciate the likes of Ramsey but as you can see from all the top clubs that were after him, they do. Crazy amount in wages but then they had to offer more than others to secure him and with no transfer fee, that was always going to be a lot.

1) Wrong to say because people do not rate Ramsey they don't know football and b) there is too much information in the public space. These deals are usually kept quiet. Why would Juve announce it and why would Ramsey's people paint a big target on his back? I think it's fair to say he won't light up his new league and the media will have a field day when he turns in one of his many average performances / gets injured.

For me the champs league knockout games are the most exciting/prestigious games of the season, and a chance for a club to stamp their mark in the European player market.
I fancy spurs to progress provided you play the strongest team you have, german league is pony at the mo.

Exactly. As we learned from Juve last season, to get through these rounds you have to be smart. We will not be at full strength but we know we will probably come the 2nd leg. We need to be utterly professional tomorrow...not go out all guns blazing because it's a 'free hit'. Disciplined, organised, focused, determined, smart. The tactics needs to be right, the team selection too, and we need to perform to our maximum.
Poch is a front foot manager. We will not park the bus, we will try and impose ourselves on Dortmund. There is no reason why we cannot overcome them over 2 legs. Beat them twice last season!

OK....agree to differ. I really hope we win tomorrow, looking forward to the game. All I said was I don't think we can/ will win the CL & thus with top 4 (hopefully) all but secured I hope we can go out there give it a shot, play well & see where it takes us (not much downside). Cant wait for a cracking atmosphere, big crowd and a good game between 2 good teams (regardless of injuries)
