This forum and Ole

Right now the vast majority of people on here want him it take over on a perm basis - even I, am slightly leaning toward him over Poch although nights like last night show some tactical limitations that might make him how I assume him to be - the managerial version of Lukaku - a guy who is good but not good enough on the biggest stage for what we need.

I wonder how the jaBoard will feel in a few weeks if we’ve crashed out of Europe, the FA cup and been beaten by Liverpool and City in the league. Hopefully none of those happen (probably a bit late for the Europe bit at least) but if they do happen will people still champion him for the role? Or will he be remembered as a guy who came in and brought back the good times but more like a rebound boyfriend than the next long term one who looks to move in and pay half the bills?

All of the best managers find themselves in situations where they don't manage to change the game to their advantage. Guardiola certainly in his first season at City. Fergie plenty of times. My point is that you're deeply inconsistent in your argumentation. I'm not even in an Ole camp or Pochettino camp. It's not your conclusion I object to. It's your bias confirmation. You pick a side and then look for supporting evidence. Like Robbie Savage doing co-commentary.

It is in this case. This is all immaterial anyway. Our problems go far beyond the coach. Until that is sorted we’ll fall short of competing for the biggest prizes.

Nightmare thread for Robb here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barely. You were the one who genuinely tried to paint PSG as ordinary. Which is a joke in itself. They schooled us and you can’t admit it which is sad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They didn't school us, it's that simple.

The neutrals on here were fecking yawning at HT because nothing was happening.

Like I said enjoy the loss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You live in a land of delusion. It’s sad really
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet it's you having to answer for your delusions on two of your own threads at the same time lmao

I've been expecting this article from Robb. I could genuinely write these posts for him. You know exactly what he is going to come up with. Week after week he made posts about Jose not being backed, not having his own signings etc. Posts about how things could be much better if we just win the next 5 games (which are all winnable) blah blah blah.

Now, after an incredible start, having not made any signings as yet, he is questioning Ole. If Jose had put together a run like Ole has he would have given him another 5 year contract and telling us how we should never have doubted him. But now has found a new love (Poch) Ole's superb efforts so far count for nothing and he is already looking to undermine him.

Anybody watching our highlights on BT sport of how PSG schooled us.

They've shown the offside Mbappe chance, Young pushing Di Maria into the stand, Pogba skipping by Kempebe and Shaw being fouled as the main by the same defender as the main highlights of the first half.

We got totally battered.

Pretty sure OGS turned us from worst counter attacking team/ fast breaking team under Mourinho to the best. Mourinho tried to get the sack.

It was an even game first half. Second half they were in complete control.

It wasn't an even 1st half. We were better and one final ball many times from having a great chance to score.

Poch has many merits. If he were to be hired, it would mean that Ole didn't do a good enough job as an interim. But that doesn't mean he'll be a success. Success at Spurs isn't the same at United. We also have issues above the manager to sort out first.

Ole's limitations are based on the squad he has. The players Op has championed failed. They do not suit the manager nor were they signed by him. They need to be moved on, such as Fellaini was, despite him being an option that would be useful in the interim - its diverging we have to move away from.

To make such conclusions on the base of one result, one were the coach lost two attacking threats in one game and his plan(s) thrown out, is absurd. To put last nights result into context, I don't feel as bad as I did after the first leg against Sevilla last season.

Klopp's first season at Liverpool would be something we could look to when we look at Ole's time so far. A change of style (or a reversion of it, depending on your view), squad full of previous manager(s) players with certain players needing to be replaced, as they don't suit the style being played or due to age/talent. Even if those players are favoured by some. Klopp's first season see him draw and lose quite a few games. If they were not in the predicament they were in due to their owners, they may not have stuck with him.

The results at Liverpool or City will not change my mind. The performance would be the main thing for me. Same goes for the Chelsea game. We've not had much luck at their home ground.

I know Poch is Robb's only choice, so I did expect to see these sort of articles after a loss and a win for Poch.

Poch’s Spurs lost 4-2 at home to Barcelona this season or does losing only count this week?
