Pochettino

The real heir apparent to SAF. Spend the money Ed, bring him in.

I think this would be interesting, in that it's asking Poch to take a step back albeit for a bigger club.

Would he or would he not is the big question, although the recent activity on here from some Spurs fans giving Poch stick is unbelievably ridiculous.

And when Poch loses his first game at United, who will you want in next?

Mourinho on paper is a better manager than Ole, he wasn't the right fit.

Out of the names banded about before Jose got sacked I'd have said Poch was the best, in truth like most never considered Ole. Since then Ole has shot himself into contention with some lovely football, wins and an emotional connection to the club. I'll be ecstatic if he gets the job.

As many have said the restructuring of the club is probably the most important thing we have to get right in the next few months.

On Ole's performance on Tuesday. Yes he didn't cover himself in glory, however this is very far from being his team. He has a first 11 which he knows will be able to play how he wants to. What he has in reserve are either unable to play how he wants or are seemingly past their best (talking about up front specifically). If we use the term "not his squad" for every other manager that comes to United after a year w/o progress (and we have) then surely this should apply to Ole too after 2 months in the job. It's no coincidence that most of our best performances have been with Ole's first choice front 6, and the worst have been when others step in.

In short Robb, cut the guy some slack. Logically there are probably managers with a better CV than Ole, including Poch (at the highest level) but he's doing a great job despite Tuesday night, with a squad severely lacking in some areas like it was with Jose, LVG and Moyes before him. Whether the form continues remains to be seen, but none came close to replicating this type of form at any point in their tenures. In my opinion, he's earned the right to build a team here.

As always it's going to be interesting to see how the manager and team react to the defeat.

Let’s wait til he wins sonething first.

My point exactly. Great win Tonight which should see them through to the last 8. If they get Barca and get knocked out next round it's just another win, nothing more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It really isn’t thought, that’s a significant difference in revenue. Spurs will earn more from that than if they came first rather than second.

I get the point from a fan perspective, but for the club and therefore Pochettinos objectives, it’s hugely important.

First rather than second in the PL, that should have said

Also, this thing about Spurs and Wembley. They have played a lot of games there. It's as good as their "home" ground. They are more used to playing there than any other side. From a playing perspective, there is no disadvantage when they play home games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its just an excuse, next season when they move into the new stadium it will be "we've just moved in" excuse.

Excuse for what, exactly?

I think that the ground is going to hold them back in the coming years. The costs have spiraled and the contractors on site have all been taking the p!ss, going slow as they are getting double bubble for overtime/weekend work. I think that Spurs might have to sell a few players. Would Levy be able to say no to a £150m bid for Kane?

Would've thought so. He knows his value and it's higher than that.

You slightly favoured Ole 2 hrs ago.

I said I was slightly leaning towards Ole and also mentioned my reservations over Ole too from a tactical level. Poch and his tactics have schooled the best team in Germany. And without two of his best players

I have no issue with anyone wanting Ole. But hand on heart, surely most people realise Poch is the better manager
.......
OGS schooled PSG with a mainly reserve squad. You could see the fear in the PSG players for last 60 minutes.
