by Spurs in the CL to sweep the best team in Germany aside 3-0, a result I almost predicted before the game, I went 3-1, but not complaining I was a mite out. Spurs almost have one foot in the next round. Obviously not counting my chickens, but a team that has gone to Real Madrid, Dortmund, Juventus, Barcelona in the last 18 months and not lost any of those games is hardly likely to surrender a three goal lead.
Absolute performance from the side last night, shows what decent delivery into the box can do, magnificent crosses from Verts and Aurier, and also Eriksen. The whole team performed brilliantly last night, one or two minor mistakes, but in generally, the defence looked a completely different beast last night. Shows what can happen when you have proper full-backs that cannot only get up the pitch, but also defend when required. Foyth was magnificent, other than one error first half, as were Sanchez and Toby. Aurier was a level up on Trippier and Man of the Match Verts, what a game he had. Winks, Sissoko and Eriksen bossed the midfield, and Sonny had another brilliant game. Moura was a bit quite, but he still did his bit.
Atmosphere, where I was sitting last night was top class, even I put in a tune. Spurs are developing into a seriously top European side now. Found a way of getting through the group, found a way last night of beating one of the top sides around. It is what top sides do, they beat the best. Spurs have restored the pride in British Football with that performance last night, and was a fitting tribute to Gordon Banks that a British side should beat a German side on the hallowed turf.
Marks out of 10
Lloris 8
Aurier 8
Toby 8
Sanchez 8
Foyth 8
Verts 9
Winks 8
Sissoko 8
Eriksen 8
Moura 7
Son 8
Even Poch gets my praise for this team selection last night. Top marks. Long may it continue.
10 day rest now until the next game, I always prefer it when the games come thick and fast, sometimes when a team has momentum, you want the next game in a few days, but it is what it is, so hopefully next time Spurs play against Burnley, hopefully the main man will also be back.
What a team to support Spurs, does it get any better. League and CL double still on the cards.
COYS
After last night`s magnificent display

Spurs, Real and PSG are all through already.
Second legs are nothing more than formalities.

PSG probably thought that when they put 4 past Barca last year. That didn't pan out for PSG. We have to treat it with respect.

Sanchez was an 8 imo, he was outstanding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All the back four were outstanding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs played a back 5.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4/5 stop being so pedantic. Does it really matter, you know what I mean. Shall I spell it is more clearly then.
AURIER, SANCHEZ, TOBY, FOYTH and VERTS
Is that clearer?

Thanks for clearing that up

Sanchez and Foyth have their strengths but were nervy first half, gifting Dortmund attacks. Dortmund didnt offer anything going forward 2nd half, 7 still means they were very good for the most part.

Obviously but it would be a calamity of those proportions if you through it away now.

Completely agree, there were a couple of moments of sheer panic with Sanchez and Foyth but overall they did very well when the game settled. Nice moment when Foyth turned two players just outside the box but I held my breath until he sent the ball off safely. Great potential and lucky, like Sanchez, to be learning from two greats in Toby and Super Jan.

Even Spurs surely can’t mess this up. 3-0 is a superb result going into this game. We just need to not concede early and we will be fine.

Let's hope Spurs don't mess this up Don. Get an away goal (which we are capable of) and they'll need 5 but I cannot forget PSG / Barca. That said, BD are no Barca...

Exactly mate and let’s be honest with Kane and Ali back, we should be to strong for them. We will get a goal I think and that’s game over.

We should take nothing for granted - an early goal at Dortmund could really galvanise them and put us on the back foot.

Ah Mr Donny, my very fine Indian friend. I hope you are being enjoying last night's result very much. Must have been a great atmosphere over there in New Delhi
