On Saturday Wolves make the 185-mile journey south to take on Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth.
In the reverse fixture at Molineux in December, Wolves ran out 2-0 winners with goals from Raul Jimenez and Ivan Cavaleiro. At the time Wolves were 7th in the league. Since then they have been down as low as 11th but are now comfortably back in 7th again. Currently unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions, Wolves are establishing themselves in the Premier League and have progressed through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup. This creditable success is due almost entirely to Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo who has introduced a football style, a work ethic and a general philosophy that no-one associated with the club has ever seen before.

Bournemouth, currently in 11th place in the table but just 6 points behind Wolves have only picked up 6 points from their last 5 games, their latest games, both away from home, ended in 3-0 defeats and 2-0 defeats to Liverpool and Cardiff respectively. Prior to that they played Chelsea and West Ham at home winning both games 4-0 and 2-0 respectively. This, will no doubt be food for thought for Nuno who will not be taking anything for granted before this game.

Wolves fans will be hoping to see the return of talismanic Diogo Jota after he missed the previous game with an ankle injury. Bournemouth fans will no doubt be hoping for the return of the perennially injured, England striker Callum Wilson who was forced off the field by his latest injury in the 73rd minute of the game against West Ham on 19th January and having not appeared since.

Gem’s prediction: 1-2

All this bollox about MM and Doherty is false. Does anyone know how many league games he played under that illustrious leader of ours???

One, in fact a 45 minute debut against Liverpool. He spent most of his time out on loan while dopey bollox was in charge and was at Hibernians when we finally got rid of him in February 2012.

To be fair MM is only taking the credit for signing him (and I suspect his comments were somewhat tongue in cheek on that too), not for developing him to what he is now.

Oh gawd - WITLESS still on about Mick. thankfully I don't read his drivel with him blocked. Doherty was a shrewd signing by Mick, when he was young, and he did well from being loaned out to help his progression. In fact Mick reckons dropping to Div 1 helped him become the player he is now. Shame some wangkparsnips can't see beyond their prejudice.

Jeff Shi et al must be rubbing their hands at this news about Chelsea. That's one team ahead of us who just got easier to overtake in the next twelve months.

Agreed, relegation to league one was definitely a big plus for many many reasons.

Cardiff 0 Watford 1, that'll teach you.
Maybe Watford are the best team outside the top SEVEN.
