....or has it?
At beginning of season, we needed to win a ton of matches to tray and get promoted, and we had 23 other teams level on points and goal difference as us.
We now still have to win a ton of matches, but we don't have 23 other teams vying for our spot on points and goal difference, we have maybe 10 at most realistically.
We have put ourselves in an incredible positive position and at this point our fate is in our own hands.
This means, if we play to our potential more often than not, we will most likely get promoted automatically.
Yes, we have injuries, every team has. Yes we're in poor run of form, every team will have this. Yes, we could have made more of transfer window, we're used to that, its done now, we can't change it.
We have spygate behind us, which I'm sure cast some sort of a shadow on our last few games, we have nearly full strength starting 11 and we have a top manager.
Imagine being in this position with Heck in charge.
One game at a time, win v Bolton, which is eminently achievable and we could not be better on course!
Nothing has changed.....

I don't disagree with your article. Some people on here writing us off when we have the best chance of anyone in the league to get promoted.

Only four teams in it for autos in my opinion. Derby, Bristol and Boro aren't good enough.

Spot on Warwick, plus wba sheff u and Norwich all look like going the distance.
Top 2 is going to be very tough.

Every team in the mix has to win a ton of matches, as you put it, imo we need 25 more pts & we will be there.

If we get 86 pts & don't get into the top 2 then hats off to the 2 who do

I know Jonty, just making the point that no team has really stood out in a very strange season.
Top two isn't nailed on but some of us came into the season fearing the worse and that's been blown out of the window. If we do not go up hope that the powers that be build on what's been achieved this year.
Major change for me is the feeling of optimism in the club, possibly not reflected on this board but I recall going to see us play a game a few years ago, sat halfway up the John Charles stand and I was able to chose a better seat cos there were hundreds left, the upper stand of the East Stand was only open on rare occasions. Cannot get a ticket now for love nor money, as it should be.

2 from 4, we can do this. Sod the “easier run in stuff” one game at a time starting with Bolton. Need to go on a run of a few clean sheets.

There's a lot of talk about needing to win this game and that game, and how top teams have to play each other. Interestingly, we play WBA and Sheffield United at home. If we can win either of those games, we will bang a couple of nails in those coffins.

They just need to have the mentality that the next game is a must win, regardless of the opposition, 9 or 10 wins out of 14 remaining games should not be beyond a team that has led the division most of the season.
