Martial and Jesse

Exclusive from Ole’s press conference about Jesse and Martial looking very likely to feature against the cockroaches.

“I hope and think Anthony will be ready and I hope Jesse will be ready because it’s two different injuries," the Norwegian told Stewart Gardner.

“So maybe more hope than think, with Anthony as well, but he’s got a chance. Anyway, we still hope Jesse could be ready. Let’s see. We’ve still got a couple of days’ training left and they need to be part of it."

We should surprise them by playing our surprise fast counter attacking football that has taken teams by surprise under Ole. They will not be expecting us to play such surprising football and will be too surprised to cope. We better not tell them that we are going to do it though as we want our surprise football to be a surprise.

Nothing about how liverpool play is a surprise eitherbut will you be able to stop Rashford & martial from leaving your defenders behind? We'll see👍🏻

Still brings a smile to my face whenever someone gets Barry'd

Ah the first time you get Barry’d 😂

Please please please let them be ready. If they are same 11 as psg but with lingard at the tip of the diamond.

Would be really interesting to see Tony+ Rahsford play more as a partnership.

If they're both fit I'd go the same as against Chelsea but with Lingard in for Mata and Martial in for Lukaku.

Young Smalling Lindelof Shaw
Matic
Herrera Pogba
Lingard
Rashford Martial

However, I don't think they'll both be back and wouldn't want to risk two 'almost' fit players in a game like this, if they come off injured it would be PSG all over again.

Mata did well in the hole, so if we played that formation I'd rather Martial be raced back to fck Lukaku off as priority.

Think everybody would agree with you there.

Mata usually does well vs Liverpool, and in spite of his physical deficiencies he does work his socks off.

Lukaku is the bigger priority to get out the team. He's lazy, he's slow, he anticipates nothing and he doesn't hold the ball up.

And for a professional footballer his first touch is atrocious!

It's a paradigm shift when the pundits speak of Jesse's absence as a major disadvantage for our club. Jesse really has arrived this season from a cup hero/spoiler to an integral part of our attack. He's exactly the type of player you want to call on in the 85th minute of a tough match.

And yet Lukaku was one of the key reasons we beat Liverpool at home last season ...

Robb no one is going to deny the fact that Lukaku has done some good for us and has his uses.

That doesn’t mean that he’s the better option for us in the set up our current manager wants to use.

Looking at a one off game last season under a completely different system and manager is pointless tbh.
