There's a docu on Netflix that pictures the Flat Earth community featuring Mark Sargent. Its called Behind the Curve

I just cannot fathom how people are so serious about the earth being flat and actually believe the sky and the stars are projected on a giant dome covering the earth.
*spoilers*
There are 3 things I want to highlight.
They all want to prove that the earth is flat. So one guy has a $20K giroscope and says if the earth is a globe it has to tilt 15 degrees. So they set the thing up and it tilts 15 degrees. He is flabbergasted and litteraly says he refuses to believe it. So he puts the thing in a box to remove any interference for inaccurate readings. And again it shows a 15 degrees tilt. So he refuse to believe that result and is now building an even more shielded box to get the result he is looking for, a zero degree tilt. Its facking hilarious.
Second, Mark Sargent is working with people to get funding to go on an expedition to the edge of the earth. Obviously getting on an airplane doesnt cut it for them. Can you imagine the excuses they come up with if they do not find the edge?
And last point, at the end of the docu a bunch of guys want to prove the earth is flat by beaming a light over a 3 mile stretch and if the light hits the same point at the end it means the earth is flat. They do the test and actually prove the earth is curved. The guy is totally flabbergasted and then comes up with excuses that the light is hitting weeds in its path blocking the beam.
You cannot win with these people. They dont even believe their own proof the earth is a globe.

The bit with the light at the end was incredible.

I loved how every time the result wasn't what they wanted they would try and find an excuse as to why rather than just accepting the facts

Did find myself strangely attracted to Patricia Steere though, perhaps the bra-less dress she had on at the start.

Absolutely brilliant. Best documentary I've seen in ages. These people are proper mentalists! Is there a bigger narcissist on the planet that still lives in his mom's basement than Mark Sargent?????? Utter cockwomble.
