I think that might have been the worst thing I've ever seen in professional sport yesterday.
Now as you know I was really starting to get fed up with Sarri and was more Sarri out than in.
But seeing that yesterday live and then seeing his reaction and everyone else's on YouTube just makes me feel genuinely awful.
No-one helped him after Kepa refused to come off, Zola stood there looking like a child who's lost his mother in a supermarket as did so many others but also alot of the Chelsea bench all just sat and made no effort. Aren't they a team? They have to be united and fight together.. I didn't see not one ounce of that yesterday.
It just shone to everyone that you really are alone out there and in times of need no-one will have your back unless you are extremely fortunate and lucky.
Sarri and no-one as manager deserved that yesterday.

I'm with Ronny on this to some extent, everything else mentioned in the comments doesn't come close to the lack of respect for leadership and control at a football club.
Kepa showed yesterday he isn't a man who will follow the managers/coaches instructions and will pretty much just do what he wants to do.
That's a dangerous scenario for any football club.

People have been very quick to acknowledge that incident overshadowed and excellent performance from the players, and rightfully so, but very few have acknowledged how well Sarri set the team up.... Hazard as false 9 was 100% the right decision, fully trusting Emerson by leaving Alonso out completely was long overdue, using Kante as a B2B so Jorginho had more cover was spot on, his subs were fantastic (CHO was perfectly timed to keep the crowd hot).
When a team managed by Pep can't get any of their midfielders into the game you know the opposing manager had a blinder.
Sarri came out of yesterday smelling like roses far as I'm concerned. Just a shame he's destined to get sacked if we lose to Spurs midweek and frankly I'm not even opposed to it anymore. He's always been about football being fun and you can tell this job's making him miserable, he doesn't need our cloud of negativity dragging him down.

You never know with this team, the inconsistency shown this season (even though Sarri has been pretty consistent with his subs) has frustrated a lot of fans this season.

This is what I'm getting at.
I've seen fighting and all sorts of random stuff etc at amateur and professional level.
But I've never seen a player at professional level undermine his manager and say I'm staying on this pitch and as much as I want to believe the misunderstanding answer I just don't because it doesn't make alot of sense..
I love watching football and that yesterday was actually quite heart breaking because it showed player power right in front of our eyes. We witnessed a player win over a manager.. and I haven't seen that before so blatant in front of millions of people on tv and 80000 at Wembley...

People can spin it however they want, and there may well have be some confusion from both parties. However, that doesn't change the fact that Kepa point blanked refused to follow instructions from his manager and coaches.

It's astonishing how we've taken one of the most carefree, relaxed, contented managers in the world, someone who prioritizes fun football over winning football (and means it) and turned him into a pent up bag of stress within six months. That's pretty damn extraordinary.
Either kicking smokes is harder than he thought it would be, or there's something seriously wrong with this club. There's way too much pressure on everyone, fans, players, managers... everyone.

Yesterday was a good day for the gossips and naysayers to stick the boot in. To make a mountain out of a mole hill and completely overshadow the team and managers performance.
