On his own future Bielsa says he will discuss it at the end of the season when it’s assessed if the goals have been reached. #lufc

Don’t know how it got raised at the presser but I’ve thought about this for ages ie does he start and what comes next.
My understanding is he is in one year deal with an option to extend.
Even if we go up would he want to stay? We wouldn’t be challenging at top of prem, he’s not seen the support in terms of transfers coming in and is a long way from family.
I hope he stays but club must be thinking of succession planning and I’m not comfortable that going from Bielsa to Corboran will be the right solution.
Bit an easy thing to do to work out what comes next.
Bielsa’s future

I agree with Afridi. Assuming we stay in the top 6, Bielsa has achieved his aims. But does he hold a lingering resentment towards an inept board who let him, the team and the fans down with their mishandling of the Daniel James transfer. Bielsa may be in a forgiving frame of mind if we get promoted, but if we fail to go up, he and the rest of us will know the blame would lie squarely with AR & Co.

If Leeds go up, it would be strange if he didn't want to manage/coach a team in the prem. And one that he has promoted.
He has spoken his admiration for the English game. To coach a team in the prem, would be what a man like him would aim for, one would assume.
But family, and all that.

The beauty of an enigma like Bielsa is you just never know.
He is the sort of guy who may stay because we achieve a promotion and then leave a minute later because someone didn't leave the toilet seat up.

Sure people want to manage in the Prem, but does s msnager like Bielsa, who analyses to the nth degree want to manage a club that might be mid table at best without huge investment.
If he gets us promoted he becomes a legged, mission accomplished and then he sits down and weighs everything up. At a great club that he now knows with players who know his system. He knows he needs much better quality, hasn’t seen the board deliver in quality he wanted before. This is also the boardbthat apologises in his name when he was adamant he’s done nothing wrong. And then he is also a long way from his family. Not just him but his coaching team are all away from their families potentially. These dynamics are all factors.
We have to do all we reasonably can to make him feel his future is here but we also need to think about the future for either next season or beyond, so we want to build in and continue his philosophy (one would hope so) who is right person to do that, can we realistically fund that.
I’ve been massively impressed by Bielsa, I was sceptical about him making the difference he has and about his volatility if feeling not supported, he has blown my preconceptions out of the water and I have huge respect for what he has done here and how he has done it. I believe the huge sums we’re paying are actually worth it IF and it’s a big IF they result in permanent culture change at the club, a culture not just if playing style but of integrity, support, honesty, team spirit and connection with the fans.

I believe top six was the target. He will achieve that surely?
Let’s face it - we are in dreamland based on what we all expected at the start of the season.

If top 6 is target after spending 6m in coaching team then there is something wrong.

Even after spending on Bielsa there’s not one LUFC fan that expected auto this season. Top six was the target and I defy anybody to say they expected autos last July.

Everyone is agreed Bielsa has done a fantastic job, with what he has got out of the players and how he has got them working as a team.
If we do go up, my fear is that the existing players are maxed out on how they can perform, won't be able to step up any further in the prem, and wholesale changes will be needed which won't be funded.

Stoopo, the board day how they’ve been impressed with Bielsa for years, how the squad has completely underperformed and goal last year was play offs, so to pay 6m per year for coaches and expect same goal again doesnt make sense.
