If Liverpool win the league

Would this PL winning team be regarded as one of the worst PL winners ever?

I think many say Leicester and Blackburn were or there were a few United teams that weren't exactly great (IE Fergies last PL team), but I can't really think of any of these LFC players who would get into a previous United, Chelsea, Arsenal or City PL winning team

City are better than Liverpool no matter what happens now.

It's true. I don't subscribe to this best team always wins the league statement. There are many things which can change the outcome of who wins the league. Simple things like a team being crap and losing against you, changing their manager then being better and beating your rivals. Refereeing decisions. Suspensions, injuries, sickness.

I think we were the better team in 2009 when United won the league. 2014 too when City beat us. I think there were many better teams than Leicester a few seasons ago.

Don't think Liverpool were better than United in 2009.

That season I think United could only have possibly played one further round in a competition (FA Cup Final) having won the Community Shield, League Cup, World Club Cup and the League as well as losing in the CL Final. United also put together an amazing run from January to May in the league (whilst also progressing in Europe) to win it relatively comfortably in the end by four points.

Liverpool were a good side that season though to be fair but faced seasoned winners who were not to be denied that season in the PL.

A better argument is the year before. Arsenal were easily the best team before Eduardo got injured and they went on a terrible run and yet still only lost the title by 4 points. The manner of that injury ruined our mentality completely and it was quickly followed by a serious injury to Rosicky.

Yeah it was close but I feel Liverpool were the better team. We were thrashing teams, beat United home and away and in the end United went on a crazy run with a lot of 1-0's.

Let's not forget that in the 2015-2016 season we did our job against Leicester beating them twice (5-2 away and 2-1 at home) but virtually all of the other teams that were in the top 6 rolled over easily against Leicester and gifted them points. When it came to playing us though of course they fought hard to stop us winning the league that season.

Despite that we still should have won it though, big opportunity missed that season.

Yeah looks like my memory is crap, not news to me. However from December on after checking, you had eight one-nil wins. That is where I must have got that from. Not that 1-0 wins don't get you the same points but over the season it felt like we were the better team, beating United home and away, thrashing teams, with United just getting over the line.

This season it has felt like City are the better team, however we are top. So whilst I do think normally the best team wins, there are occasions when they don't as another team gets the slice of luck or grinds out the results when not playing well.

Leicester vs Liverpool 2-0 tho

Trent-Arnold, Van Djik, Robertson, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Allison would all have a shout of getting in any Championship winning team. Really bad article, unthought through.

Yep, i'm sure Norwich City or Sheffield Utd would certainly consider signing these players.
