Credit where it's due

Mentally all spot on today!

I really hope this is a sign of things to come and we continue to push for top 4 after a torrid couple of months

You can see that when we're mentally in the game this team is capable of good things and that's personally why I get so frustrated with bad results

All in all quality today and if we get 3 points at Fulham like pretty much everyone else has then we've got a chance of getting back in those top 4 spaces

Sarri played a blinder with his team selection, although I still would like to leave out Jorginho who gave the ball away too many times again. Alonso looked better maybe losing game time has made him buck up his ideas. Kepa was rightfully dropped imo and it sends a message out to the players. Has anyone else noticed the slight tweak with Kante occupying a more central position when we don't have possession? He was immense last night especially on the wing where he slaughtered Davies for pace. I agree with the frustrations Ronnie and long term we need a couple of strikers to start with. Let's hope this form is carried on at Fulham

Great result, we just need to build on this now. The consistency is the issue, we're capable of these really good performances but then just throw it away the next game.

Yes kante played closer to Jorghino, which to be fair Sarri said he wanted Kante to do back in December

Looks like Sarri's come to a compromise with the players on playing style, at least in the big games.

Moving Kante from an attacking mid who works half spaces into a more traditional B2B midfielder has been Sarri's best tactical adjustment all season. Not that he's been bad this season, he's actually been pretty good, but he needs roles where he's given responsibility to cover more of the pitch - it's a waste of his natural talent if he's primarily shackled to one half (why he'd be butched as a DM also).

The next couple of games are the indicators of where we are. We've always got it in us to produce one off performances against the other top teams, it's the consistency we need to instill into our game. Gotta beat Fulham convincingly or nothing's really changed.

Looks like that 6 nil defeat has jolted Chelsea back to life.
You guys should be grateful to us at least.

That was our biggest defeat, of course. But we were also beaten 4-0 by Bournmouth. And we were trounced by Spurs and by Arsenal too - albeit the scores may not have been quite so embarrassing. The crazy thing is, we seem to hurtle from one extreme to the other - either we are beating Man City and Spurs, or we are getting a hiding from Bournmouth or Wolves. And Man City and Spurs. We need to find some kind of consistency. It makes for a wild ride as a Chelsea fan - it's rarely boring.
