Hollowhead speaks....

One of the most pitiful individuals in football management (and I’m being generous when I call him a manager) has come out with a stark warning for Brendan Rodgers, based on his own horrific experience when he left Plymouth for Leicester mid way through a season - which he apparently bitterly regrets.

“I didn’t know I would be an object of hatred"
“I regret going to Leicester, we got relegated, I should have stayed at Plymouth"
“Brendan could have walked into Chelsea why has he gone to them?"

Maybe the difference is that Brendan Rodgers can string a coherent sentence together without trying to get a cheap laugh in front of the media at every given opportunity like he’s attempting to launch a career as a stand up comedian. I wish this guy would fack off and relaunch himself as the face of Ginsters pasties or some other profession that he might be better suited to.

And nev - I don’t care how good a dad he supposedly is, I’m talking about his “career’ as a football manager before you throw that one in

Just realised that with all the comments on here about unpopular characters who have left their mark on our club (mainly managers) one name has not been mentioned, who should never be forgotten or forgiven.

As I say I’m not going to argue that he did a good job here - he clearly didn’t - it’s just my hierarchy of ineptitude is different.

And surely signing Barry Hayles was an act of comedy genius

I’d forgot Gary Megson.

He’d be higher up my hate list than Holloway as well.

A clown who shouldn't be given air time by the media. If I ever hear his voice I always switch off immediately. I must admit that I actually thought when he took over at Leicester that he might be ok - how wrong can you be??

Andy King, if nobody else, is very grateful for Hollow-words taking us down to div. 1- think about it! He has gone into our history books thanks to him!

I did something, it didn’t work out so I wish I hadn’t done it.

Very thought provoking.

I liked/like him. He was left holding the unwanted accolade of being the only manager to be in charge of LCFC being relegated to the third tier, but was he more to blame than Allen or Megson?

We can’t judge Puel based on the foundations he’s laid for Rodgers.

We can blame Allen and Megson for the mess Holloway inherited.

We can credit Pearson for the team he left for Ranieri to take on.

Peter Taylor only has himself to blame.

Confusing.

Not really.

Puel has completely turned over the legendary team and brought through new young players. I agree with you that if BRodgers gets them playing then history may remember Puel more fondly than his current perception.

Allen recruited badly and was a nutcase. Megson treated us disgracefully. Holloway inherited a club in terminal decline - but he did also do a pretty bad job.

Pearson picked us up in the 3rd tier and left us in the Premier League. Momentum was behind us after the great escape.

Peter Taylor picked up a side built by Martin O’Neill. An established, top ten, Premier League club. He dismantled it, got us relegated, signed very poor players on inflated salaries, which ended up with the club in administration.

Context is everything. We can argue mitigating circumstances for some of them, but not for Taylor. For me he’s the worst of all time.
