I actually rate Sanchez unlike a few but Poch is making a mistake making him the Central CB in a back 3.
When we looked most defensively secure in a back 3 we played
Vertonghen Alders Dier.
Poch should have simply replaced Dier with Sanchez at RCB. The central CB in this formation needs to be the ball player. Alders is miles better at distribution than Sanchez so I do not see the benefit of having your worst ball playing CB of the 3 being in a position that takes the most touches whilst having to start our attacks.

Sanchez can’t play RCB as he’s got no passing ability which you need for that role

I like sanchez but he is known to make errors and against Arsenal it was a horrible mess of a balls up. Very much an individual error once Kane was crowded out. As for playing him in the middle this is more likely to be Poch giving Trippier and Rose added support. God knows they need it.

Yes he made an error, but it was in the opposition half, a distance away from any danger around the Spurs goal. You have to ask where was the cover behind him, if he was so far up the pitch. It was non existent. The whole team were far too high. That has to come down to poor management telling the whole of the defence they can all just camp in the opposition half, without a thought of actually defending their own half.

For me, it's the lack of organisation which is the issue. Sure, Sanchez messed up his header the other day, but how can a missed header in our own half mean they are clean through on goal?
I am not enjoying 3 at the back. Puts too much emphasis on our hopeless full backs (Rose aside).
I would play 4 at the back for now and our best two CB's are Toby and Jan.

The lack of cover behind was astonishing. All three CBs should not be in the opposition half at the same time. Sanchez is the future, so would definitely be number one for me, partnered by Verts. Toby to me is getting past it now, and he wants out apparently, so why keep playing him?

I would dispense with both full backs as it stands, and just play all four of Sanchez, Foyth, Verts and Toby, Verts can cover at left back, then play two wide players who can cover both wings. The full backs at the moment are next to useless and are the main problem the defence is looking so shambolic. None of our full backs as it stands can defend, are not delivering anything going forward, so don`t see the point of them. The CBs can just shuffle across if needed, still leaving a couple of CBs in the middle. Makes absolute sense to me.

To be fair, if they were 15 yards inside their own half, with Ramsey nearby, the poor mistake by Sanchez would still have probably resulted in a goal would it not?

A lot of the problem is the lack of protection the defence is getting now. We were so solid with Dembele and in-form Wanyama in front a few seasons ago. Or Dier there and dropping back when the full backs pushed on. Our defensive unit has definitely regressed.

Well no, not if there was cover, as there should have been, behind him. High ball coming out of the air, surely the other defenders should be saying to themselves, I will get back behind the player about to bring it down, just in case it gets turned over, or there is a mistake. Basic defending.

Davinson Sanchez will face no further action from the FA over incident involving Laurent Koscielny in the #NLD. Was seen by match officials.

Sanchez screwed up. If he'd won that ball no goal, pure and simple. Everyone makes mistakes, I'm over it.
