Hibs 0 v 2 Celtic

A great end to a turbulent week.

The past week has arguably been the most difficult for around 3 or 4 years and to come through it with wins at Tynecastle in the league and Easter Road in the cup to send us into the semi final is testament to the players, Kennedy and Lennon.

I thought the game itself was quite open first half but we lacked a real killer touch in the final 3rd to get the opening goal. Burke and Eddy both having two very good chances to score.

Hibs rarely troubled Scott Bain in fairness and I thought we defended very well which was good to see considering how poor and fragile we looked against Hearts on Wednesday.

2nd half we upped the pace and the opening goal is outstanding from Forrest, seemed to relish playing in that number 10 role. Something to consider going forward.

Brown with another goal, what’s that, 2 assists and 3 goals in 3 weeks? I thought he was excellent the whole game, as was Bitton, 2nd half especially the big man was superb.

Lustig back in was disappointing but to be fair, Toljan has been relatively poor the last few games. Ralston will never have a better chance at getting the RB slot than from next week onwards.

With ICT through, Aberdeen and Rangers to play again and Hearts expected to go through tonight I think it’s safe to say I’d hope for ICT so we have a real good chance of making the final. The draw is after the game tonight.

That’s now 11 wins from 11 domestic games since the winter break, scored 23 and conceded just 2 goals. Can’t ask for much more than that and we can now concentrate on a full weeks training before the Aberdeen game on Saturday, this is of course after Rangers are away to Hibs on Friday night. Would like to think we could at least try extend the goal difference this weekend from +6.

I suspect Aberdeen will rest a few players on Saturday given their replay is on the Tuesday and that’s more important to them than the league game against us.

Anyway, credit to the squad, a sour week ended with two sweet victories

Forgot to mention the bottle incident, wtf man? Coins are bad enough but throwing a glass bottle is flucking life threatening ffs <doh? A flare threw onto the pitch by our fans as well

I'm far from daft
Why the fook should we shoulder all of the blame for something that is prevelant throughout world football.
All fans sing nasty things about rival clubs and their fans, ours just happened to be based around an irrational belief in a mythological being.
Why should we be singled out.
Fook right off until it's an across the board rule.
I may even start singing them Fook the sfa

Over the years, Celtic’s Board have made the political condemnations about bad behaviour. That, I believe, has fallen far short of what has been needed, I.e use cctv to identify the neds involved and ban them for life.

They did close the GB section for a week or two but it hasn’t made much difference. The neds who go to away games, chant aye r ai pash and let off flares are season ticket holders. These clowns can and should be identified and banned for life.

Celtic’s Board, by their ineffective action, deserve to have strict liability laws forced upon them. Only by hitting them in the pocket (closed door games, hefty fines, points deductions for example) will they take appropriate action.

“They did close the GB section for a week or two but it hasn’t made much difference”
If you want to base an argument on an assumption, the assumption needs to be correct. Are you sure it was the GB section?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it was. My seat is in the main stand and I saw that section empty in the next game at CP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry pal, you are creating a link between the GB and the game at Hibs. Do you know the GB, do you know the neds at the HIbs game. Are they the same?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sad deflection from the main issue. See all my, and others’ previous comments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is not a deflection, I have nothing to deflect from. You referenced GB and neds from the Hibs gave without any reasoned link

Fook right off until it's an across the board rule.
---------------------------------
It will be.

Its the application that my not be - but that's a consequence of the reputation built by fans and permitted by the clubs over decades.

Probably some escalation starting with fines before it gets to points, and then probably for more than just singing, but ultimately that's where we'd go, where we must go, if the escalation measures don't get through.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you explain what Aberdeen/Hibs/Thistle songs, as distasteful as they are will fall under this umbrella?
It's a pile of $hite and any old firm fan who emraces this is a P.C. luvvy.
I'll be belting out the Sash every week if they bring it in as it is no different to god save the queen, flower of scotland, or 99.0% rec. of anthems. In general and in summary, get a tune and add we leathered you vastirts in lyrics

You might not be daft but I would suggest that’s a bit unwise and could be classed as bigoted by some. Your opinion is yours.

It is no more or less bigoted than GSTQ, unless yopu can point out a bigoted lyric from the sash I have missed.
Whether they have a place at football is a whole diff. debate, but bigoted no

As I’ve said (not in a BR voice) your opinion is yours.

You seem fixated on songs mate - have you failed to notice the stuff that's been happening in recent games? I don't care about distaste or offence that much tbh, mock or otherwise. It's just fvcking pointless though and gives everyone an opportunity to have ago running to teacher, by doing so its just a distraction from the fitba (it really has no place in the game, but because there have been decades of ineptitude and apathy and even exploitation, it seems like it has, and too many just accept that fallacy as fact - that won't change without a shock to the system).

Let's not pretend its only about songs though - its gone way beyond that - as I've said if it was just songs we'd not be bothering that much. The stuff we've seen is maybe an escalation of, and enabled by, some of the singing - engendering so much hate in some of the morons they feel justified in going further and throwing coins bottles etc. That all needs stamped out - if a few snowflakesget upset because they feel they are being made an example of, so be it.

So colour me a PC luvvie!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with that but trying to set the blame for the action of a ned makes the argument joke. Hate to say it but Scotland is a bigoted land to the core. Blaming football fans is week, it's to the core man
