Stayed to fight for his place?

He arrived less than three years ago and spent at least a year on loan, didn't he?

I would hope he hasn't given up yet!

Wolves offered 16 mill in the summer. Zinc decided to stay.

Given he was naturally an attacking midfielder, he's done brilliantly at left back. He is operating as an inverted wing back though and coming into central midfield when we have the ball, we do really need an alternative in terms of someone that can stay on the wing (like Mendy) for a plan b.

Real shame what's happened to Mendy, can see him getting a bit longer before we give up completely though

Easy to forget that Oleks is not by inclination or experience a LB (at least until the Mendy injuries). I wonder if given a chance he would prefer midfield or to fully commit to a wing back type role. Defensively he has some way to go to be a true LB but he has been a great asset to the team this season. I'm glad he stayed but whether anyone would buy Mendy with a track record of starting 16 PL games in 2 seasons is doubtful. I see the need to buy a replacement. To be top of the league with the only true LB having started only a handful of games is amazing.

I also don’t think we should give up on Mendy. However, he should just concentrate on recovering and getting back to full fitness. Some of the antics he gets up to (e.g. participating in goal celebrations whilst still injured) is Mario-esque.

City sign £65m a year kit deal, plan to spend it on strengthening squad.

Not getting lucrative deals because we weren't winning trophies. Luckily that situation has been rectified.
