Just genuinely interested in why you do not think clubs should change keepers in January. Nothing more than that. You were so so adamant about it over many weeks without ever giving a reason why.

I think in most cases the transition affects goalkeepers differently. It's a position that requires knowledge of the league, an ability to adapt, a relationship with your defence and a certain level of, dare I say it, arrogance.

Kiko has done all of those very well, but that doesn't mean that all goalkeepers would.

Completely agree with regards to the relationship with the defence and i had hoped you would say this.

Personal experience from playing has taught me that this is a very important factor in keeping it tight at the back. I have played with garbage goalkeepers and it plays on your own defensive decisions to such an extent that it can end with dallying for a 1/2 second longer than normal and you lose the ball in a dangerous area. Playing with a good goalkeeper gives you so much more assurance as a defender.

What would the comments on this thread look like though if brizzle had scored the two goals they should have done yesterday... first half open goal the guy inexplicably didn’t shoot at after Kiko rushed out and didn’t get there... and second half when the striker didn’t look up and shot at him rather than lobbing into the empty net he wasn’t guarding.

He risked an early bath with the head incident too.

Ridden his luck a bit.

I stuck behind BPF all season although felt we needed to bring in another goalkeeper given we only had Huffer to compete.

Kiko has done well since coming in. Its early days. All ive said is that hes making a mistake every game (which he has) just like BPF was doing before him. Ive also previously said that at this level all goalkeepers make mistakes and posted a weekends goals with evidence to back it up.

You mean no mistakes that has cost us

While I think Kiko is marginally better than BPF, I don’t recall a BPF error as glaring as Kiko coming out and leaving an empty goal as Kiko did on Saturday. Luckily Brizzle didn’t take advantage of it.

BPF came flying out a couple of times and ended up in no mans land, but we got lucky.

But I do remember Grobs doing the same back in the day

I do like a keeper to have some character, and I think Kiko has it. BPF is young yet, and he will be fine
