Just one of those days...

Decent, open game played in largely good spirit.

Arsenal set up well and took their chances, United took a while to get into the game and didn’t take theirs.

Lukaku found Leno in great form and missed an easy one, didn’t agree with the penalty decision but hey, that’s football.

Disappointing result but after the exploits of midweek it’s hard to be critical.

Amazingly now Arsenal are in the box seat for third and we are in a right old scrap for 4th place. Maybe it’ll go down to the wire, and we can only really hope that Arsenal throw it away or Spurs continue their slide.

Unlucky lads, recoup and back at it next time.

Arsenal did to us what we always do to them. Not too worried, a day like today was coming. How we react to it will be the real test but I don’t think we played that badly at all. On another day we win that game. No real tears.

Biggest concern from today is the frailty of Smalling, Lindelof and Matic as a combo.

The spine of our team is where improvement is badly needed.

'Arsenal the better side'

Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

I've been impressed with Arsenal, they've shown a lot of fight and steel today. Arsenal have dominated possession and territory, and they've been the better side.

'Fabulous Arsenal, a step too far for United'

Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

Arsenal are just one point and one goal behind Tottenham now. It's all getting congested at the top. The race for the top four is on.

Arsenal put in a fabulous performance today. They showed character and steel after a poor performance on Thursday.

For Manchester United, maybe it was a step too far after their exertions on Wednesday night.

I thought Arsenal had the edge throughout the whole game. They controlled it.

Romelu Lukaku's miss early in the game set the tone really and a part from that Bernd Leno wasn't tested - and every time he was he matched it.

On balance, Arsenal deserved to win it.
.........
Danny Mills thinking Man Utd were Arsenal. What game was he watching? Man Utd dominated massively territory and possession and clear chances and they were gifted the win.

Think it was fairly even myself. United created more chances but Arsenal looked dangerous throughout - draw probably a fair result.

We hit the post and bar and Lukaku had 3 big chances missed. Rashford 1. I can only recall Arsenal creating 1 chance and that was Lindelof mistake in 2nd half. We deserved to win but a freak game and we lose.

I honestly think Danny Mills is demented.
