Bernd Leno.

Has he convinced you he is the right man to be our #1 for the long term?

Leno has been more than a goal keeper, under Emery's style of play. He probably had more touches with his feet than some of the on-field players on the pitch yesterday.

He always offers himself up for a pass when any of our defenders or midfielders are in possession. He's also slowly becoming one of the most effective ways of switching our build-up play from one wing to the other. Having said that, his long range passing could do with a bit of work though.

His readiness to sprint off his line and win the one-on-one against the United striker yesterday was a particular highlight.

I admit that such risky play will no doubt come with a few hilarious backfires, but it will always put a smile on my face.

He lacks physicality on crosses and doesn’t really command his area but his shot stopping has been at times sensational and his distribution under pressure is excellent 👍
I think Peter Cech is not good enough to be in competition with him now.

I think what made his performance special yesterday was his decision making.Every decision he made yesterday was the correct one and the fact that we did not concede is down to him as our defence was carved open so many times.

His passing is only bettered by Ederson in the league. He is very good with his feet. Weak at crosses but I am confident he will improve.
What i like about Leno which is why I have backed him all season is his confidence. Doesnt let his head down.

If we improve the defence he will be names in the top bracket of goalies. He has bags of ability

I'd say he's won me over and has been one of our best players since that loss to Southampton where he was absolutely horrid. He doesn't command his area with the same assurance of De Gea or Alison, but his shot-stopping has been excellent of late and his distribution is good, though not in Ederson's class (that guy's a freak) or as good as Alison's.

Overall, a good signing for £20m and the goalkeeping position has been taken off the list of crisis areas.

I think hes been great for us. Slow start but hes adapting well. I think we'll see an even better Leno next season.

He won't be rated with the likes of De Gea, Allison, etc.. until we have a defence. As long as we have a leaky defence he'll only be rated as a very good keeper. Our defence causes us to concede a lot and cause of that people will say the keeper also needs to take responsibility and therefore isnt in the top bracket. Its not fair as a lot of goals he couldnt stop but its the way people think.

Any one who is better than Leno is already at a side as big and as good as Arsenal or better in my opinion.

Some say that a good goalkeeper saves you 10-15 points a season. In recent weeks he has surely kept us in the game in the first place. He is known as a good shot-stopper from his Leverkusen years. He has been immense for us the last few weeks. Long may it continue.

He’s done well overall, he’s made a lot of important saves, and will most likely improve next season. There’s probably not many keepers who would keep many clean sheets with our defence.

We definitely don’t need to improve on him at this stage. A new number 1 is well down the list of priorities. We might need to bring in a second or third choice keeper though. With Cech retiring, most likely ospina leaving, and can’t see Martinez wanting to stay again as second or third choice, we’d be left with just academy players as back up

I think Emi will stay. Will get cup games, and Europa if we end up in that, at least.

he is a world class keeper and wouldn't swap him for any other keeper in the world.
