Should the BBC do away with Open All Mics?
I for one think so because it's really difficult to tell what's going on as there is just a lot of shouting and you never get any information about the games really.
Much better to have live commentary on one game if you can't cover them all, and just get updates. However if you have people at all the grounds why can't they cover them all? Last night was a disaster.
Vote 1 star for keep it and Vote 5 star for do away with it.
Or just discuss.
Sportsound - Open All Mics

I actually quite like it Cammy. I agree with you that sometimes it can be a disorganised rabble, but I enjoy being able to hear about all the games at the same time. I do think they should get better pundits in as the like of Dodds and Preston are a pain in the erse, but the fundemental idea of the show is quite good. it could just do with somebody controlling it a little better.

Personally I like Open All Mikes and want Sportsound to keep it.
As for Sprtsound in general tho' I wish they would stop talking about the old firm at every opportunity. Sometimes you would think they were the only 2 clubs in Scotland.
If they are going to get rid of anything, please let it be Jim Traynor's Your Call.
The guy is a total balloon. He spouts absolute rubbish, he contradicts himself from one week to the next, and he is totally obsessed with the old firm - a waste of airspace and a radio frequency.

Open all mics is fine, and is usually only on 1 of the frequencies, so you can choose to listen to that or a full game, or go online and listen to United game.
I like Dods generally, and don't get United fans having a go at him because he definetly has a soft spot for us.
As for Traynor, this is mental! he is the best thing on radio! It isn't his fault that all the people that phone the show are Old Firm fans, they have the most fans. The program is firmly tongue in cheek, and i love the way traynor winds fans up, especially the Dandies. Compare it to 606 on 5 live pre Robbie savage which was the most boring love in lets be freiends nonsense i have ever heard...
Generally i think Sports sound is very balanced and a great program. When away from Scotland i really miss it. There are obviously a few Old Firm loving pundits in there, but equally you have Gordon, Spency, Biscuits etc who are all equally passionate about their own clubs.

Jim Traynor is normally good for a laugh, especially after one of the OF has been beaten by a "diddy" team.
I don't mind having Open All Mics when there is also the option of live commentary of the game of your choosing, but when that's not an option and Open All Mics is the only choice... It could be a lot better.

I see there is a live text for the three cup games tonight.
No live text last night, when there were five games?
Totally ridiculous bias once again.

I generally quite like open all mics, but i normally listen to the united game if the option is available, never really listen to traynors show but i do quite like it when i do listen. Lets hope we can make it 3 wins on the bounce on saturday, hibs could be quite tricky after they're cup win but i'm optimistic we can edge it.

I quite like it. Until the female reporter squeaks in from Dumfries reporting on Queen of the South. At this point you know that Spency, Dodds, Preston and co are all shifting in their seats, thinkng, I forgot all about her, better watch our P's & Q's.
It also beats the constant drivel about the old firm you have to listen to, in the main coverage game.
