Pogba & Matic

It is really bewildering to me how Matic is still starting games for us, he should do the right thing and donate his next months wages to charity.

As for Pogba, it does not matter what the numbers say, this guy is just never ever going to make it to that elite class level. I am talking about proper world class players as Ferguson would call it. During their time, Xavi and Iniesta will have poor games, but never 2/4 rating- Pogba today was -1.

He wasn't doing well at Monaco and getting on a bit. He's 32, but still a tidy player

They did well, but we were a shambles. No energy, no creativity, no invention.

Chelsea were fortunate to nick a point off them this season.

So? We went to Chelsea's backyard and gave them a beating.

Chelsea were shambles then, they've have shown good form since the league cup final, they played Wolves at home last week

Cobblers

Identifying pogba and matic as culprits in a line up that included the average rashford and martial, and pure dross like herrera and lingard's is bordering on laughable - if it wasn't also so sad.

Be redeemable to say they were poor, but they weren't 'poor', they were just their normal selves. And that is so poor it just goes unnoticed now.

When will the club wake up. Losers, all four of them. They are not, and never will be, united quality.

That line up got what was predictable and deserved.

The front 3 were far worse than the midfielders today. Rashford the worst of the lot. That lad needs to learn when to shoot and when to pass. His shooting from ridiculous angles and distances was a joke tonight and have been for a while. None of the lads bar Romero can hold their head up today. Abysmal performance and as bad as even Jose united dished up
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nailed it. Front 3 were woeful. Pogba had 3 guys on him when he was on the ball. Don't even blame him too much.

We missed young as an attacking outlet as Dalot offered nothing.

Wolves were excellent but we were also abysmal

I thought Smalling and Shaw were decent ( I know, the goal!) but nobody else really.

Dont think Smalling was great but the effort was there, got away with some grappling on set pieces etc. Shaw had an alright game tbf his slip for their second was unfortunate. Romero was keeping you in it but messed up for their second too.

Martial and Pogba i honestly forgot were on the pitch for large periods. Shearer and that summed it up at ht it was too slow, got in good positions then passed it backwards which suited wolves as rather forcing them to defend a cross it went backwards and they could players back and into position until utd lost the ball.

That said wolves are a good team, they knocked us out at their place too albeit our second team with a 16 yr old cb and a fab as a cb partner oh and mignolet and moreno and they played better than your lot :/. Anyway theyre a handy team well drilled and organised with a good work ethic/system and tactics. Coady is quite a good watch for a cb they switch the long diagonal so well with him bit of a ball playing cb used to be a cm if memory serves. neves and moutinho can clearly play too jiminez n jota work so hard and can play a bit too. The whole team just gels well together they all know what to do they all work hard for eachother and they deserve credit they were pretty good and didnt let utd get into the game at all really.

Pretty good summary of where Wolves are right now. However you didn't mention how important our wing backs Doherty and Jonny are to the way we play. Both are vital to the system and we are significantly weakened when either are missing.

My biggest problem with Matic is he seems to get booked in the first half on a very regular basis. And the bookings are invariably needless and stupid. Then you're left with an immobile central midfielder who can't make a tackle, for fear of a red card. His booking yesterday was ridiculous. Was favourite to get to the ball, hesitated and then just slipped into the Wolves player. Why the hesitation? It's like he sees a yellow card as a sign of effort. Or a substitute for it

As for Pogba, he's representative of a lot of our team. Can turn it on when he feels like it but still is too prone to laziness and going missing when the going gets tough. And it doesn't matter who our manager is when that's the case
