We may as well get the negatives out the way first, again, of which there were plenty. Listen, I’m all for winning ugly but I think what’s concerning is if we play like that in an OF game or the cup semi then we could very easily lose the game.

In a way we’ve actually went from one extreme to the other at times, we’re now getting it forward far too quickly and it’s desperate and hopeful balls into the box with no one there to attack it. I’m fine with us being patient and trying to create openings if we are moving the call quickly enough in the deck but that’s not happening either unless it’s from McGregor.

Defensively we were exposed a few times yesterday, mostly with one ball up top then a slide ball into someone. Understandable if you are throwing everything at it up top but that wasn’t the case and we can thank Scott Bain again for bailing us out twice.

We’re badly missing Rogic or Christie in that number 10 position to take a ball on the half turn and open up a defence, thankfully Rogic will be back on the bench for the OF game.

Johnston again looking like a lost wee boy, needs to drop down a level and work in the gym for the next 6 months, he’s a man down, no point beating around the bush, he’s nowhere near good enough at this stage.

Thought Sinclair was our best player first half but wasn’t really involved at all 2nd half and Eddy was anonymous and Forrest may as well have sat in the stands to watch it for all he was contributing.

But, and this is where the team deserve immense credit, we literally do not know when to give up and the one real piece of quality we produce we get the winner. Edouard driving at players from deep is what we need to see more of, lovely slide ball into Forrest who picks out Edouard and how’s yer bottle Eddy, calm as you like, boom, 95th minute winner, delicious.

That now seals the title with 8 games to go, a win in the OF game and we must look to finish by 20 or so points clear to try and crush the hopes other teams have of catching us next season.
