Montenegro

I've just had a read about the racist chanting at the England game last night in Montenegro. Shameful scenes of course and something that we should all roundly condemn, and I can't imagine anyone would disagree.

UEFA have opened an investigation into this.

What punishment, if any, does the fine jury of Scottish JA606 think would be appropriate in this situation?

Keen to hear everyone's thoughts.

Of course thugs need arrested and rses who throw coins.
Just let's not go all Opus Dei and self flagellate or wear a cilice cos some fookin clown cannot behave.
Not sure if you are aware that Scotland rugby fans were flashing at folk bit that's ok cos they have tailgates on their shootingbreaks.
FFS stop surrendering to the chattering classes and their attempts to demonise fans and the game

If fans at murrayfield are flashing then I’d have no problem levying a fine against the SRU and charging the individuals with indecent exposure/breach of the peace, depending on the severity.

Strict liability could and can lead to greater self policing, which I think is ultimately the solution.

Not for me, I'm fooked if i'm digging anyone up that's why we pay millions per year to police and stewards

Trust you to bring necrophilia into the discussion

Totally agree. We have police so that we don't need to self police.
I'm not slow at voicing an opinion but I go to the game with my wife and or boys. I'm not looking for trouble on a family day out.
A lot of this is just laziness and inefficiency.
Eg...How the feck do people actually get flares into grounds. Easily prevented.

I agree that the police and stewards should be doing more and are grossly inattentive at times (although the clubs seem to employ the same stewarding firms game after game, go figure). However without having them in amongst the fans at all times won’t they purely be reactive rather than proactive?

I think everyone just needs to grow a set of baws.

I couldn’t care less if 50,000 chant about me being a feenyun b@stard, I love it, revel in it and it adds to the atmosphere of our games.

What needs stopped is the throwing of objects onto the pitch.

Sticks and stones n all that.

Absolute snowflake generation.

To be fair, you’re more likely to be the one being arrested.
