I personally think the only way we can keep pogba longterm is to make him captain. This is the only thing that will satisfy his ego. But at the same time I feel he should never be captain. He is a our best talent but he has none of the personal qualities of a leader imo.

I would say Real are in a similar position to us in the amount of work they need to do to their first XI as well as the squad.
Their main priority is finding the goals they are not getting now Ronaldo has gone. That isn't going to be Pogba.

that is absolutely true
there are categories types of players in my eyes 1)those who look good, 2)those who make others look good, and 3)those who look good while making others look good.
The last category is a rarity in midfielder and usually decide titles imo. Given the choice between 1 and 2, I prefer midfielder in the 2nd category. Pogba belongs firmly in the first category imo. I think of these players like the crown jewel, you do not place a crown jewel in a team under cronsuction which is what we did when we signed him 3 years ago.

I’d tend to agree. He’s not the sort of player who can get the best out of others or grab a game by the scruff of the neck and control it, though we have seen occasional hints (vs city for example). He’s a player you bring in when the core is sorted to give you a bit of creativity.and incisiveness.
Not captain material for me, plus if Madrid are serious about signing him (remains to be seen), then he will go
