Bahrain GP

Very interesting turn of events this weekend.

Leclerc deserved the win. I'm not a Seb, nor Ferrari fan, so was happy to see Lewis get up for the win. Credit where it is deserved though, and Leclerc did so. I mentioned last round that it could be an interesting and disappointing position for Ferrari to implement team orders for Seb so soon.

Very disappointing for the Renaults. Their double simultaneous failure saved Leclerc's podium position. Despite their engine failure, both drivers showed they can do much better as the season progresses and may get the odd podium.

Next stop, China, and Ferrari should be expecting a win if they can qualify well.

Forgot to add, I thought Lewis's comments to Leclerc were excellent. They would have been poor comfort at the time, but will benefit the young Ferrari driver for years to come as he matures and likely wins a few more races.

Although it would have been nice to see Leclerc win, I'm still glad Hamilton and Merc won. Just something about Ferrari I just despise. They want everything their way and if they can't win, just threaten to quit etc.

On another note, its nice to see McLaren reasonably competitive again. Hopefully they manage a podium this year. Should be a great midfield battle as its so close between a number of teams minus Williams.

Was an excellent race, was at a family event so avoided the internet for the most part. Leclerc dominated the weekend and deserved the win.

Hamilton had excellent overtakes on Bottas and Seb. If he was not put on the soft tyre, but went with the mediums like everyone else, I wonder if he would have been closer to Leclerc.

The cream as they say rises to the top. Seb needs to get back on it as Ferrari will do their best to make it up to Charles and there may be no team orders.

Would not be good for Seb's legacy if he gets beat by another "rookie"

Hey bumblebee,

I tend to share your sentiment regarding Ferrari and Seb. In saying that, Ferrari still deserved the win in my opinion, and I'm glad you also share that impartiality/objectivity.

Hi MUDd,

Sorry for missing your replies.

Hopefully we see a competitive season with multiple contenders. Will be interesting to see how the team dynamics pan out, as per your link. Seb will be seriously tarnished if he doesn't dominate his "rookie" team"mate".

I'm clearly not a fan of Seb or Ferrari, but I do see them likely winners in Shanghai this week.

You're a seasoned traveller, have you ever been there? It would be a damn fine race to attend for the week. My missus' family is originally from Shanghai and I've been a few times. It'd be a wicked city for the spectators for the round. Wish I was there.

No worries mate. I have been to China but not when an F1 race is on.

Looking at the times in FP, I am not convinced Ferrari have the upper hand here. They are quick on the straights but there is a lot of time to be made up on the corners and braking zones.

Would not rule the mercs out.

SHould be a good race.

Most of my recent trips to China have been to the shipyards and that seafood market in Shanghai.

Always take the stretch jeans for that one
