DoF Chat From OGS

It does appear the the DoF issue has not been put on the back burner as some of us may have feared.

Ole's quotes are below in case people can not open the link at work.

"I'm happy talking and discussing football with knowledgeable people in the right positions," said Solskjaer.

"The demands of football nowadays mean you definitely have to split responsibilities."

Solskjaer added: "More than 100 years ago, managers used to be the club secretaries as well.

"But things change. I have an input in most of the things now and will give my advice of course but I am not the one who decides.

"A manager can't do as much as he used to do when my gaffer [Sir Alex Ferguson] started, for example.

"Me and Ed [Woodward] and Joel [Glazer], we are looking at how can this club be run as smoothly and as well as possible."

I don't buy that Eric, I think Jose was informed there was a chance we could get Sanchez and he backed it. He seemed genuine when first interviewed about his signing and that we were getting a real top class talent to work with imo.

He barely started him. Surely if he was his player he'd have tried harder to get him in the team?

Starting to think Jose had a point now tbh. Doesn't excuse his behaviour and I'm glad he's gone but the club needs a rocket up it.

Perhaps seeing him in training every day meant he wasn't what he was cracked up to be at Shakthar?

Had a point in what sense?

LVG n Jose have both said the same thing. We've got someone deciding who we buy behind the scenes (in random with Woodward) who knows nothing about football.

I'm not defending Jose though. I wanted him out for lots of reasons. I do think the club transfer strategy is broken though. That's not on Jose.

Bout isn't directly responsible for:

- Writing scouting reports
- Drawing up shortlists for Ed and his team
- Suggesting, negotiating or endorsing transfer fees

People need to make an effort to understand the roles and responsibilities at the club before starting to slag people off.

but I don't get the impression he wanted Sanchez. Could be wrong but he never seemed on side with him from the off.

....................

I would suggest that the amount of times he played him despite him being utter kak would seem he was very much a Jose player.

Can you please tell me what it is that he is responsible for, so that I can slag him of with merit this time.

That would suggest Lindelof n Fred weren't then.

Only if you go of that criteria. I would bet that Jose had a say on all his signings. I can't imagine him not.
