Rebuilding

A couple of good articles already, which I don't comment on because I don't know who is out there and who we will let go.
What I believe is the approach SAF took was the right one.
First, boost the confidence of the players you have.
Second. Keep a close eye on the youth players and promote when they are ready.
Third. You don't always have to spend a fortune to get goos players, Schmeichel, Ole, Vidic, Evra and many more were not big signings, some you will get wrong of course.
Fourth. When one comes along who you know is good and fits what you want, dig deep, eg Rio, RVN, RVP, Keane.
Most, though not all will work out.
Fifth. Try to buy players with a bit of character, and who see a move to United as a dream move.
Last. Only play when fit, play in their right positions; And get some bloody wingers, our history is built on them.

The job Ole has is not an easy one. I just want to see him build a young exciting one in the mould of United teams of old. Let's see where it takes us.

Liverpool have stayed patient with Klopp who hasn't delivered anything yet and look at them now.

Difference is that Klopps career showed that he deserved patience

Ole hasn’t had quite the career to earn such faith. I doubt he’s expected to provide magic too quickly but I also think he does have some minimum targets to keep his job which is fair

That's not how it works. People don't get more time because of who they are. Jose didn't even last till Xmas day and he's one of the most successful managers of all time.

The manager goes when the time is right, no matter who they are. Only a few exceptions to that rule like Fergie n Wenger.

Agree. Promote youngster who are ready. Buy hardworking players, not diva superstars. Definitely agree about history built on wingers, i do miss not having a Beckham type player, who can take corners, free kicks and had pin point crossing but also need players who can take advantage of the crosses.

which was a philosophy which he borrowed from Sir Matt.

This is what we call 'the United Way"

I honestly don't get how we got a whole squad who are so clumsy at both ends of the pitch. We have been gifting opposition goals all season and missing easy chances all season. Its like they play for Man Utd and as a team play really well but whats the point if you can't score simple chances and gift the opposition goals.

Funnily enough Wolves away and Arsenal away were statistically 2 of our dominant away games for creating clear chances and on another day we would have scored 5 or 6 in both and both games we gifted 2 goals.

Robb lol. I remember you were praising him for the 15/16 season and LVG who you were bashing got more points in same period that season.

OGS probably could not win for next 6 league games and still have a significantly better record than Mourinho 1st season at Man Utd win percentage in the league and Klopps. Shows you how well OGS has done as he took over a team who were in relegation form recent form wise.

Pretty sure Klopp is a specialist in losing. I actually liked Klopp Dortmund side but his sides always feel like they are there to play good football but when the main prizes are given out they bottle it.

liverpool would have to be very foolish to dump klopp even if they don't win a trophy this year. their improvement in all aspects of the game has been impressive.
