New Stadium

Having watched the Spurs new stadium last night, it was mighty impressive.

The question is do we need a new stadium?
Now before this goes off, let me explain my point of view

I first went to Old Trafford back in 1985, so I’ve seen it change many times over the past 30 years. It is a magical place and will always be special for me.

But seeing the stadium today, it does feel nakered, and a little tlc isn’t going to fix it up.

I would like us to build a new stadium just behind the current stadium, (where the car park is) and begin a new chapter in the clubs history.
The current stadium will always be about Sir Matt and Sir Alex. But times move on and so should we.

We are the biggest club in the world, and we merit the best stadium in the world.

I know many will be very passionate about not changing from the current, but I think we need to move on from the past and move with the future.

I'd rather see safe standing brought to OT.

Who needs escalators and magic pint glasses at a football ground?

I still think there's enough room just to build a new stadium at the side of the existing one. It would mean losing a lot of car park spaces for a season but that's something we'd just have to take in the chin and plan for.

The stadium is a shambles in places. It needs lots of work doing and the train line complicates matters.

I'd be up for a new stadium for sure. Maybe not the best time right now but in a few years hopefully we start to see some movement.

Should be able to see all the stadium from any seat you are in. You cant at OT. In the top tiers the huge sloping roof is too restricting in many parts. Ironically the best views of the stadium are from the Scoreboard Paddock corner. Which we give to the away support!

Richard Arnold has said that any redevelopment would mean having to be homeless for a while, but surely if we built a new stadium, we could do the same as Spurs and partly build the new stadium around the current one in the car park? Or the car park might even be big enough to build a new stadium right next to it?

There is plenty of room to build a new stadium without having to move out. Matchday numbers may have to be lowered for health and safety outside the stadium but otherwise we would have little disruption

Surely you could do a Spurs and play at Wembley for a while. Would suit most of your fans better anyway

We could just speak to the council about using their stadium at Eastlands.

Given the way we've spent money since Woodward came to the fore, I'd expect us to announce we're building the most expensive ever stadium, then when it's finished find they've accidentally built a swimming pool.
