Great win last night, and looked

like a great atmosphere. I couldn`t make it last night, and have missed out on the City tickets, because I had to be at an early hospital appointment this morning, so couldn`t get on the queue at 10am, I was recovering from a bit of minor surgery I had to have, although I did get a Bourbon biscuit and a cup of tea for my troubles. Nevertheless, there will be plenty of other days.

Team played OK last night. Still not in my opinion though firing on all cylinders of a year or two back, with all the constant changes, the team never really looks like it is playing as a complete unit, and when they get to the final third, some of the decision making and finishing is not that good. Still need dozens of efforts for just one goal. Sissoko was our stand out player again I thought, he was all over the pitch, and has one hell of an engine on him. I thought Palace were poor last night, but I knew that beforehand, so really it should not have taken until the 55th minute or whatever it was to open them up, they are not a good side, and they showed it. Our full backs still worry me greatly, neither seemed to be able to put in really decent crosses, definitely need upgrading next season. Toby and Verts looked solid, but for one or two late scares late on. Eriksen I thought grew into the game, Dele was average, and Kane does not he predatory striker who used to bang in twos and threes, I still think he plays too deep, although some of his link play is really, really good. When Winks came on, he was decent, at least was willing to really try to boss the middle of the park, by driving forward at every opportunity.

Nevertheless, it was just what the doctor ordered, new stadium opening, three points, clean sheet, and a half decent performance, back in 3rd place, above the Gooners (they had their two days of glory ), you cannot really ask for much more.

The other thing, who was at the game, and if the could please verify, was the official crowd of under 60,000, when we were told 62,000 + would be the capacity. Were there really like 3,000 empty seats, I could not see any from the excellent stream I watched, looked packed all around. No way would that many buy a ticket and not go. On the Spurs website it was definitely up as sold out, as are the Man City and Huddersfield games. Maybe Palace did not sell their allocation, but that would probably only be about 500 max, so what happened to the other 2,500 missing fans? That is quite a lot for a supposedly sold out game.

It sickens me that ST holders who couldn't make it didn't re-sell their ticket back to the club.

Hi Sandy

There was slightly less there, partly due to the Sky lounge not being, partly because Palace did not sell all there tickets & it looks like a few season ticket holders could not make.

Atmosphere was brilliant, you would have loved it. Felt like we had never been away.

Hope your minor procedure went well this morning?🤕

Alright Genius, yes it looked really good on the stream I was watching, I would have loved to have been at the match. Tickets are going to be much harder to come by this season, especially for the big games.

Yeh, you would think they would Edbo, I will continue to go on the ticket website at regular intervals to see if any are up for grabs, even I cannot get my usual cheapos. Pension goes up this week I think.

Thanks mate, I have already recovered remarkably quickly. I am not like Eric Lamela. The one thing I cannot be called is a sicknote.

Well Sandy Ole boy, I hope you're well.
I suppose you watched the game on TV from the Operating Theater?

Kane IS playing a more midfield role, I think due to Poch, and I agree he needs to be up front.
FYI ... Man of Match was .................. No not Trippier No No....... your favorite player ......
Sissoko!!!!
YUP, he made MoM.
And I happen to think that's right.
Danny Rose put in a shift too.
Our Korean player, what's his name, I keep forgetting ... Was all over the field, running hard and by golly he booted in the first goal, didn't he? Helped me calm down too!

As for your least favorite player, Sissoko was often over on the right side helping him out, as per Poch's instructions.
So no 80th minute Ballz-ups a la Spurs tradition.

Keeps Spurs in the top four stakes.
Now onto ManCity ....... I think you predict a home win?
