Interested to find out other peoples reaction. A good mate of mine, a season ticket holding Gooner of more than 50 years, won £50 on our office sweepstake over the weekend. Talking to him this morning I congratulated him on his horse related profit but obviously ended with the customary mind the gap on returning to more important issues. I was quite surprised by his reply which was "Arsenal win or I win £50 on the gee gees? £50 all day long" was his response.
Would others?

£50 for me if spurs lose...? would take the spurs win... £50 is neither here nor there... its basically a meal out for me and the mrs.. not life changing at all

Spurs win over £50 all day long. He cannot be a proper supporter if he would sooner win £50 than see his team win.
If say it was a Spurs win or win a million pounds, then I may have to think for a few seconds.

As I say, I was surprised by his comment. He's not short of a bob or two either.

Id rather spurs lose than win £50 every time unless it was a final or something

I always bet on spurs losing. It softens the blow a little, but it’s never a bet I want to win

Depends on the stakes of the game doesn’t it. If it’s a title decider you wouldn’t swap a win for thousands, but a regular prem game you might take a hundred for a loss
