Highlights of the season so far?

While it's not been a vintage season in some respects, we still (at the time of writing) sit in 3rd place despite all the issues we've faced - the stadium troubles, the lack of signings in both transfer windows, the injuries, the post-World Cup fatigue for many of our players, Hugo's off-field problems, and the significant investment ploughed in by the teams around us. Three of our rivals have also experienced a new manager bounce.

Despite a squad stretched to its limits at times, only Liverpool and City have won more games and conceded fewer goals than us. We've also had an excellent campaign in Europe, escaping from a very difficult group and then beating Dortmund in comprehensive fashion, and made it to the semi-finals of the League Cup, only losing on penalties despite having a number of key players missing.

Overall, then, it's not been such a bad season. We're still in with a shout of the Champions League semis - who would have thought that after the draw with PSV? - and we still look best set, with 4 of our remaining 6 games at home, to finish 3rd.

Here are my highlights so far:

Spurs 3-1 Chelsea

One of the best ever nights of our extended tenure at Wembley; everything came good pretty much from first minute to last. We completely dominated a previously unbeaten Chelsea side, with Dele scoring early on and Kane adding a second with a long-distance strike the keeper should have done better with. Son capped it off with a truly sensational goal, leaving Jorginho and others in his wake to score one of those that will be talked about for years afterwards. A late consolation from Giroud was the only thing to take the gloss off a brilliant night.

Spurs 3-0 Dortmund

We were arguably the underdogs going into this first game, with Dortmund riding high in the Bundesliga and boasting an impressive team packed full of young talent. We, on the other hand, were missing key players - none more so than Harry Kane - and had set up with a rather cobbled together side. First half saw Dortmund dominate possession and chances, although we still had our moments. Then, seemingly from nowhere, we took complete control in the second half.

Son placed home beautifully after an inch-perfect cross from Super Jan, who was channelling his inner Roberto Carlos as a roving left-wing back while also keeping Sancho quiet. Cue elation in the crowd and the belief that we were running away with the tie. A third from Llorente added a nice gloss to the night and made sure we were now favourites going into the second leg.

Barcelona 1-1 Spurs

We needed a result, and other results to go our way, and (for once) it actually happened. We weren't the nearly but not quites this time, and it completed a remarkable turnaround after only 1 point from our first three games. We ground out results against PSV and Inter and then faced the daunting task of getting a result in the Nou Camp. PSV gave us a helping hand, but we were still going out until Moura scored a crucial equaliser, the least we deserved from an excellent performance that probably warranted a win.

It wasn't Barca's first team, but it was still a very strong side, and we were missing key personnel too. We cut them open at times in the second half and deservedly got through.

Everton 2-6 Tottenham

A vintage Poch performance as we put Everton to the sword. Given their recent turnaround, it now looks an even better result than it seemed at the time.

Spurs 2-1 Watford

Mostly because I was there and because it was one of the most exciting ends to a game this season. Son got us back into it against a resolute, time-wasting Watford side, before Llorente - who'd missed a few sitters and been barracked by the fans - headed home the winner. Pure joy in the stands on a bitterly cold night. Lowest Wembley attendance of the season, but the atmosphere was weirdly very good.

Honourable mentions to Inter at home and Man United away.

Here's to a great end to the season. COYS.

Can't argue with those choices. The game in which Winks got the last minute winner would be up there too, as well as beating Arsenal in the cup. First time we have beaten one of the big clubs in a cup game for a long while.

Yes, the Arsenal quarter-final is a great shout. A really excellent performance and only the second time we've won at the Emirates.

The late Winks goal against Fulham was also a really brilliant moment, at a time when we were down to the bare bones and relying on the likes of GKN. In that game, he came up trumps with a terrific dipping cross.

OP

Pretty much agree with all those games. I would also add Man United at home, although they lost the game, it was a very good performance, especially the 2nd half. I also enjoyed the Inter Milan home and away games as well.

Agree with all the games u mentioned but none of that will count for much if we finish 5th. Anything less than top 4 and this season will be a disaster given its importance moving forward as we try to retain our best players & strengthen the squad. Given our attitude in the domestic cups, the CL is a nice bonus and I hope we give it everything as underdogs & see what happens... ya never know
