In all the years you’ve watched United, what would you say were the best performances you’ve seen from the club? This is open to fans of other sides about their own team.
For me these three
Man Utd 7-1 Roma - just clicked in a way teams dream of clicking in a crucial game. Genuinely speechless.
Newcastle 2-6 United. This was when Newcastle were good back in 2003 and if I remember correctly were going for the title too. We turned up and Scholes had imo his best game for us and destroyed them and took a massive step towards the trophy.
Man Utd 5-0 Man City .Back in our first cycle of SAF dominance with his first great side. The term ‘unplayable’ is oft used but Kanchelskis was incredible that night.
Best performance against us? Has to be Barca in 2011. Peps side peaked that night. Jaw dropping and deeply saddening 😂

Think you have most of them nailed on. One game i think people forget is when we battered Arsenal 3-1 at the emirates champions league- Ferguson mentioned the counter attacking goal in his book, scintillating stuff between Park, Rooney and Ronaldo. Just remembering it makes me sad how far we have regressed

United 2-0 Derby FA Cup Semi at Hillsborough.
United 3-0 Barca ECWC Old Trafford
United 9-0 Ipswich Old Trafford
United 6-1 Arsenal Old Trafford
Asenal 2-6 United Highbury ("the most amazing performance in my time at Manchester United," SAF)

The 5-1 and 6-0 against Newcastle in 2007/08 were up there. Given and Harper were actually brilliant in both games but still conceded 11 goals.

I remember many people tipping Arsenal to win the game due to United having not won at the Emirates up that point.
The tie was pretty much over as a contest 11 minutes into that match.

As a neutral, I would say your 1968 European Cup Final win over Benfica has to be right up there, 4-1 after extra time, with George Best being the star player.

I'm not sure I'd go for a game like the 7-1 against Roma. Obviously, it's memorable for the goals. But these are freak games in that a high proportion of the shots happened to fly in. They also take on a momentum, with a team realising it's getting stuffed and that adding to the freedom with which we played. Surely it's more impressive when we get the better of a genuinely great team? Away to Juventus in 1999 was a performance that justified our claim to be the best team in Europe. In 2007 we thrashed Roma and then fell considerably short of AC Milan in the next round.

the semi final second leg v Juve in 1999 is the best I've witnessed. Not an exaggeration to say that Juve team was full of absolute stars.
An underatted one was the 2-0 at home that season v Inter in the quarter final. Another team filled with top class players and we made it look quite comfortable.
Domestically the 4-2 at highbury was one of the best I've seen from us. They were a top side back then, invincibles the previous season I think, could be wrong but I think Silvestre got sent off that game

The Juve 99 stands out for me as well and it counted towards something bigger the following month.
Inter 99 also a good shout.
Think the Juve game we won 3-2 at OT in 1997 was important as well as it made us believe we could compete with Europe's best.
