Squad in training

De Gea, Romero, Grant

Jones, Dalot, Darmian, Rojo, Young, Lindelof, Shaw, Smalling

McTominay, Pereira, Fred, Garner, Gomes, Pogba, Mata, Lingard

Rashford, Lukaku, Sanchez, Martial

———

United Suspended: none
Misses next match if booked: Herrera, Matić, Shaw, Valencia, Young

Barcelona Suspended: none
Misses next match if booked: Nélson Semedo

.................

Matic being out is a blessing in disguise, we will need the energy of McT, Herrera will be a big loss.

I can see Shaw receiving a yellow against Messi and missing the away leg ☹️

Is Bailey injured or just out of favour?

Realistically Could be without both first choice FBs for the second leg.

Herrera is a huge loss. Fred is simply not up to it at this level. He's looked out of he depth against mediocre PL teams and a few lower league sides too.

I'm going 1-1 tomorrow and 3-1 loss away.

He's not been great but he was decent in Paris

Based on that squad, I would go with.

---------------DDG
----Jones----Smalling----Lindelof
Dalot----Pogba---McTominay---Shaw
------------------Lingard
-----------Lukaku------Rashford

OGS quotes:

"We still hope maybe that Nemanja Matic can be ready and Ander Herrera is probably out.

"Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia are definitely out."

He also said Alexis Sanchez will not feature against former club Barcelona: "He's done lots of recovery work and he's injury free. He's probably in the squad for West Ham. He's not going to be able to join in tomorrow."

"We are all focused on this game and contract talks will just go on with the players. Everybody's focused on the game, knowing we can create a special atmosphere here.

"Not long ago we played PSG and disappointed ourselves and then we played Liverpool and the atmosphere was incredible. Playing at Old Trafford in a knockout stage, under floodlights and hopefully a bit of rain will make for a special evening."

What kind of plan can you have to stop one of the best players in the world? This season we have played Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus and Kylian Mbappe at PSG. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, they will keep our defenders on our toes so let’s see how we manage."

"Paul Pogba is looking forward to tomorrow. He is a Man United player, one of our big performers on the big stage.

"He knows the game against PSG was not his greatest moment. He's only focused on playing well tomorrow against Barcelona. I can't see him not playing for Manchester United next season.

"At Paul’s best he can run a game like this. His job is to be the creator, win the ball and drive forward, and I expect him to perform tomorrow."

funnily enough Fred did well vs PSG and the whole reason you bought him was probably due to his CL performances for his previous club? he had a few good games vs Peps City did he not? So no reason he cant do so vs Barca, could be a turning point in his Utd career games like this.

When you see the squad laid out like that, it hits home just how average we are now. So little genuine world class quality in that 23
