Thoughts from today

Can't say it was overly exciting or overly convincing. We're slow in attack and final balls were woeful.

Not conceding early meant we weren't under usual pressure of having to chase the game but again, very few chances on goal and then we got the sending off enabling us to turn the screw a bit.

Wish we'd have really closed the goal difference gap a bit more but overall, despite mediocre performance lots of positives to take away.

Bamford gets on score sheet, must help his confidence.
Hernandez came through 90 minutes and looked ok for it.
Don't think we picked up any injuries, although Janssons knock looked nasty.
Berardi gets some first team minutes.
Roofe eased back for a couple of minutes.

Although a little lacklustre, this was a massive result for us and surely there is only one way for performances to go.

We need a favour from Sheff U opponents from now on, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

They didn't have a shot on target, bossed the game from start to finish. It felt like the goal was coming with or without the red card but once they went to 1i was0 men, they could do nothing to stop it.

A confident Bamford going into the last 5 games is exactly what we need.

Still moaning.........won 2 nil away at a play off contender. GREAT result. Op always finds something to moan at. Performance means nout at this time of the season, it is a results business. We have already show how good we can be. Now it is all about getting over the line any way possible. 1 star for me. Getting fed up with your negativity fella.

If everything was the same, however our first goal came on say, the 20th minute of the game, then no one would even think of it as negative

Its only cause we went in at half time on even terms that got people worried.

Matty that is football fella, you know that. Take the Watford Wolves game, nothing is & everything is possible.

For me we were on top & there was only ever going to be 1 result even before the sending off. We had too much for them.

We have an awesome team spirit & the want to win, we keep bouncing back with great results after a poor 1

Cant afford any bounce backs now - need to win virtually every game.

Heres hoping the blunts have a poor one tonight

I think it was the really poor crossing and lack of creating anything meaningful in last third that was worrying first lai and in terms of possession was quite even at that point.

The red card could so easily have made things harder for us in terms of opponents completely sitting back but we found a way and that settled things down allowing us to play more cohesively.

Big sigh of relief as second went in.

Disagree that it wasn't exciting. Fantastic viewing and a reassuring performance in a game that could have been very different.
I was surprised how bad Preston were & wonder how they were able to beat Norwich. I think they played into our hands with a very high line, and we always looked dangerous on the counter.

It was a demonstration lesson on playing against 10 men & moving the ball around quickly.

I suspect Sheff W will play very deep on Saturday and could be tough to break down.

I thought their player (think it was Nmecha? - probably spelled incorrectly) was pretty decent.

Nmecha looked adventurous but ineffective.
