Moving away for now in what was a superb night for us Spurs supporters cracking result, but I just want to discuss VAR and how much I feel it’s going to ruin football. I know it’s been done to death this discussion, but tonight’s incidents have fuelled my dislike for it even more. I just don’t think we are ready for it at the moment and until they iron out the problems with it and bring it in when it’s to be used effectively, I honestly think it will ruin football.
Me personally I wouldn’t have it all, as I feel referee mistakes are part and parcel of football. If one bad decision goes against you one week, another will go for you another week, but we seem to be at a crossroads here where the governing bodies have introduced this s** system which slows the play down and puts everyone on tenderhooks thinking goals are going to be disallowed etc.
It’s just not being used consistently. If the play is being stopped for the supposed handball, then why not stop it when Kane got blatantly elbowed on the floor by that skinny little c*** Fernandinho?
The penalty was wrong and I felt the ball was hit at Danny Rose in which he could barely move his arm out of the way with the ball going at that speed towards him, but VAR deemed it a penalty and I just think it’s a load of bolloks. All the pundits etc were saying it was the wrong decision and moments like this make VAR a laughing stock. I don’t like it at all, but unfortunately we have no choice as it’s here for the long term.

Some absolute whoppers from TOOR yesterday to try and escape his errors about the handball law.
But still none of them trump the idea that you can know whether something is a foul without knowing the laws.
Incredible ignorance from my favourite sparring partner on this forum.

VAR wins again. Shame the PL is gonna be a year or two behind the others who have had the practise with it but it can only be good in the long run. People like Winston will gradually come around and understand the laws, guidance and how the decisions are made.
