Right great result last night, but it

is only half-time, and anything could happen 2nd leg. Equally as a big a game this coming weekend against Huddersfield. Hope the team do not treat this as something of a nothing game, and then put on a no show, and drop unnecessary points, it would be a massive letdown.

Not to much tinkering either Poch, so few games left now, just leave as is, the players will need to be on it at the off, as they were last night. No need for mass rotation, Dele should be OK, it was only his hand I think, Kane obviously missing, but the rest of the team as is, although I suspect he will change the whole defence again, something I would not be doing.

Three points is an absolute must, and if anything a lot more important game than the City match, where there is still a lot to do to win that trophy, whereas to finish Top Four, just needs absolute concentration, three points in all the home games, and it will be done and dusted.

Oh and Kane. The same injury seems to be recurring on a regular basis these days, looks like we will have to put up with him missing a third of the games most seasons, so definitely need another striker next season. His ankle injuries will get worse in my opinion, not better, he obviously has a serious flaw around the ligament area, injuries can occur at practically any time in any match, the way he puts himself about. Shame really, I think he could have gone on to break lots of goalscoring records, but the injuries will probably thwart him.

COYS

PS could not help notice that the Man City biased commentator could not help himself that he had to put in that Spurs scored against the run of play last night. Like Spurs were getting battered. He was not a happy bunny when that goal went in.

It will be backs to the wall stuff up there.

With no Kane, in a way I’d be tempted to field Llorente. We need to slow the game down and hold the ball up. He’s not a world beater but he can do those things - provide us with a target to hit, and someone for runners such as Son or Lucas to go past. Plus he’s handy at set pieces. I worry that if we have all runners on the pitch, as we did when Kane went off, we’ll end up in an end to end gun-slinging contest which is exactly what we can’t afford to do against City with their quality & style of play.

We need to suffocate the game; players like Sissoko and maybe even Wanyama to block, hassle, outmuscle and squash their players in midfield. If we get another goal they need 3. Poch has got to get the tactics spot on.

Agree Ace, we need Llorente on and to play how we did at Dortmund.

We need to do a job on them, get ugly and slow down play when ever we can and look to counter.

Ace, Just need an absolutely disciplined performance like last night. The defence played very well last night, shows what happens when you do not tinker too much. I still think Toby and Verts are the best CB pairing in the Prem, so would just leave as is now until the end of the season. Llorente can do a job, he has not really let us down this season, when asked to come on or start in place of Kane. Still pretty confident, when we went to Chelsea with the same 1-0 lead in the semi-final, I was never that confident, for some reason, Chelsea seem to have it over us in the cup games, City I think will be different. They will have lots of the ball, just need to restrict the chances and defend with their lives like in Dortmund.

So can I Hengy, but I don`t want needless rotation just to give players a rest. If last night`s players say they are up for playing Saturday, and again midweek at City, then just play them. The defence needs to be absolutely solid for the City return leg, and changing it all again at the weekend, will disrupt what was a pretty decent performance from them last night.

Sanchez, Davies, Wanyama, Lucas & Llorente all will start imo

Davies is almost guaranteed to start at the weekend, I'd say. Lucas too. I guess if Llorente comes in it'd be for Alli, right?

Not 100% sure on Sanchez/Wanyama but you may well be right.

Can’t see Winks being able to start another so soon after coming back from injury.

Sanchez is the one I’m not sure on but Verts took a couple of heavy falls.

I know you guys are the fans and you're the ones who watch your team so you may disagree, but if I was Pochettino I'd be planning to attack Man City in the second leg. They won't be afraid of a team that sits back, even if that team has the likes of Vertonghen in defence. They will be afraid of away goals. The way I see it, if you sit back and try to grind out a result (at least before the last 15 minutes) then I give you 10% chance of victory overall. Play Son up front for his pace, take the game to them, get out there and look to score an away goal, then another away goal, and I give you 50%. Essentially, your first leg result has given you the chance and the right to have a proper go at them in the second.

(And that's not meant as an insult, just a reflection of how good a team I think Man City are.)

P.S. You can take Huddersfield pretty lightly. They're really struggling and their confidence is through the floor right now.
