if offered a 1-0 before the game last night. The team put in a really solid, high-intensity performance. It's probably fair to say that we caught City on a bit of a bad day, and their line-up was quite baffling, but we more than played our part in City having a bad day, and even when City are in gear three they can just coast through games at times, so couldn't have asked for much more from the players.
The defence was excellent including Trippier, but particularly Rose and Toby, who were both outstanding.
Son, Winks and Sissoko all impressive, particularly Son who was a threat throughout.
By the way, what an atmosphere yesterday. Unfortunately my area of the South Stand was mostly sat again, and I saw several arguments between fans amongst themselves and with stewards, but the noise was still deafening. Non stop singing from start to finish, hopefully it continues like that as the novelty starts to wear off, although you can't expect atmospheres like that against smaller clubs like Huddersfield and West Ham.
I give us a 50% chance of progression now.

Would've Snapped Your Hand Off

I think its that close..... lose an early goal and I think it might open the floodgates and we're done. But if we get to half time 0-0 and even if they scored in the second half I'd still fancy us to score... This team has plenty of flaws and mental breakdowns but they don't quit

Would’ve snapped your hand off for a 1-0 defeat tbh but we got what we deserved.
Great game plan with great performances all round.
I expect next weds to be a even harder test though

What would be the point of taking a 1-0 defeat?

We would’ve still been in the tie with that over a 2-0 defeat

Without Kane it's going to come down to heroic defending and doing everything we can on the counter to get that away goal. No way it ends 0-0

Same scenario as the Chelsea cup semi, and look what we did there.
Weirdly if away goals had counted we’d still have gone through with a. 2-1 loss, so same result at the Etihad and we qualify, must go for that away goal it’s crucial as I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet there

If we defend as we did last night we have a chance, I think we will definitely score at their place

You want us to lose 4-1?

Think you meant the former??

IMO a great result I would have actually settled for 0-0 and hope to nick a goal up there so a one goal lead is simply great for us. I still think its going to be the longest 90 minutes of our lives but I dont think its any harder than having to go to Barca and get at least a draw.
As for last night, I thought early on Trippier was getting run ragged but to be fair 2nd half he had a good game.
Very disappointed in Eriksen again but he has not been at it for weeks.
MOTM is a tough one it really is because I personally cannot separate Rose and SIssoko. I know they both made mistakes but their work rate and will to win was simply fantastic so its shared for me between the two of them.
Everybody else played their part of course but I have to congratulate Hugo for that penalty save as I am normally extremely critical of him.
I know everybody is saying it was a good height for him blah blah blah and that is was a poor penalty but at the end of the day he went the right way against one of the best strikers in the premiership in a vital game and saved it. Poor penalty or not thats not easy to do.
