I’d also be tempted to go for Llorente. Kane did a great job of holding the ball up allowing us to keep possession, this was lost when he went off. Especially as I’d imagine we would be under a lot of City pressure, an out ball would be needed.

I agree with chronic there is no way I want Sanchez anywhere near the team with the form he has shown lately.

I would also have a big question mark over Eriksen.

Despite his ability he rarely turns up for big games and we will definitely have our hands full up there for sure.

We need every player to give 100% and be prepared to really get stuck in and he never gives us that IMO.

I would also think very seriously about Llorente because if we cant keep the ball in their half some of the time and they are allowed to keep coming at us for 90 minutes then we will lose.

Rose simply has to play full stop. They will probably play Sterling wide right and we will need Roses pace to combat him and Walker coming down that side.

Bit unfair on Sanchez, Grandspurs, he is still a very decent player, despite not being at his best this season, he is not alone there. I doubt anybody wanted Sissoko anywhere near the team six months back, now he is the first name on the team sheets. Players do not get their form back, by not getting picked. They need game time. Having said that I would not be changing the defence at all now for the rest of the season.

Toby and Verts partnership is simply the best.

3 at the back hasnt really worked at all this season barring Dortmund away maybe,

Toby has made a few uncharacteristic mistakes this season where hes basically played limited football last season..and has been our best defender this season. He is going to be a massive loss. Despite Sanchez potential he has someway to go. a handful of decent games a season for a CB playing for a team striving for the top is not good enough.

This is the sort of game that we miss Dier for. He is so underrated is untrue. Not just holding, but covering for when Trippier/Rose do get forward. I would feel a little more confident if he were fit to play.

IMO Verts has been our best defender this season, by far. Would be a bigger loss. That's not to say Toby isn't a superb player or wouldn't be a loss. Verts though is our number 1 defender IMO. Should be captain.

Verts was exceptional last season. Has had injury lay offs this season and when hes played has been his brilliant self. Consistency wise Toby hands down. Thing is i have no worries of Verts leaving unlike Toby. Hopefully they both sign extensions at the same time...one can dream

Sorry sandy but I totally disagree.

Firstly his distribution from the back is dreadful and as we insist on playing short all the time thats a major factor.

Secondly his inability to realise you dont always have to win the ball sometimes you just hold a player up has been exposed time and time again this season. The penalty against woolwich is a typical example but there are many others.

If you look at mistakes by central defenders this year that have led to goals then possibly a couple each from Verts and Toby but a lot more from Sanchez.

To me he is a typical modern day player, pace power but very little ability and we cannot afford him to be marking a top class striker like Aguero against city its a free kick or penalty waiting to happen.

As for Sissoko (bless him) yes he has won over the fans for his work rate and heart but he is not a good enough footballer full stop. We would have won at pool if he was.

Please find me one Spurs fan that would not happily see an uninjured Dembele return and replace Sissoko for the rest of the season.

Please find me a Spurs fan that does not believe that a top grade centre midfield player is desperately necessary during the summer.

Love Sissokos will to win, love the fact that he gives the game everything he has got but a good footballer?

Never in a million years, so please dont tell me that a distinctly average footballer is the first name on the team sheet because I dont believe you.

Does he deserve his place at the moment, yes probably. Would 99% of Spurs fans hope for a better signing in the summer for centre midfield? Definitely.

Much as I hate agreeing with chronic I have to agree with him totally on this one

Would still like to see him available for the prem run in mind
