DHFC News

DHFC?!?! Yes indeed ladies and gents, this is a special Dundee Hibernian News report.

The reason for this is due to a particular spat that my fellow Arabs might be aware of, where resident ArabTrust buffoon Mike Barile has angered and, miraculously, 'united' the support for the first time in years due to his complete cuuntery.

The United Supporters Foundation and The Arab Archive (an online source of stats for United) were this week sent a letter by Mike Barile, in his capacity with ArabTrust, basically giving them a cease and desist warning for reproducing the Dundee Hibernian logo in their online resources. Barile claimed that Arabtrust owned the rights to the logo.

Stepping aside from the absolute absurdity of stopping United fans tweeting a picture containing the Dundee Hibs logo, it has come to light that the ArabTrust don't actually own the rights at the moment, although they are involved in the process of trying to own it. It's an absolute disgrace that Barile would try to stop them tweeting something with the logo and I'll be honest, I was outraged by it.

The ArabTrust chair, Susan Batten, has since made a statement that clarifies the position. It would have been much simpler for her to write "sorry, Mike is a total kant, just ignore him". Everyone would have appreciated it. They have stated they will be changing their communication policy - I suspect this means changing the password to their accounts and not giving Barile access.

It's worth noting that Barile is the person driving the Jim McLean statue fund-raising, and recently appeared on off the ball on the BBC to talk about this. United fans have been slow to fund this well-deserved statue and I'm 100% certain that this is because Barile is involved. He's a liability, and a quick dig into this past would show that.

Anyway, in other news, United have confirmed their first signing for next season, and it's Ayr United right back Liam Smith. Terrific timing given that we play them on Friday night.

The Courier are reporting that Neilson will be given the same budget regardless of what league we're in which is a positive bit of news. The owners are supporting the manager and the club.

In further developing news, Osman Sow, who signed for United in January and has been a flop was recently held in a Swedish airport under suspicion of money-laundering, after being found with a suitcase full of cash. The investigation is ongoing and the money was seized.

Perhaps explains why he's been out of the picture recently.

So I take then it’s now ok to sign a rivals player especially when you about to play against them?
