Summer Trannies

No not an article on those men who can pull off a short skirt in good weather but if anyone wants to start one, I've got plenty to say on that too

A huge summer on the horizon for most of the big 6 PL teams and for few outside trying to break in.

Liverpool

Already one of the best sides in Europe, so little needing done really but i don't expect board or manager to rest on their laurels so expect Liverpool to strengthen again.

A player like Fekir would be a great addition but it couldn't quite be done last summer, could it be on the cards again?

Up top you would expect Sturridge to leave, Origi isn't a great option at the top level so potential for another Forward to be brought in.

Where do Pool fans think attentions will be focused in the summer?

City

Also already one of the best sides on the planet. A replacement for Fernandinho will surely be the number on priority.

Undoubtedly a few more tippy tappy sorts will be looked at. A left back that can stay fit might be in order.

City fans, where are you going to strengthen this summer?

Chelsea

Somehow sitting in 3rd after a season that has felt like failure should put things into some perspective that it's not quite as bad as first feared until you remember they can't buy anyone in the summer and Hazard wants out.

Possibility of a new manager, one that excels in bringing through young players would surely be top of the list. There are plenty of exciting youngsters and returning loanees that could make an impact.

Being stuck with Sarri and being Hazardless might make next season a real struggle.

Chelsea fans how do you see the team lining up next season and who is in charge? Will Hazard be around?

Spurs

Budget. Is there one?

Feels like we've been predicting crunch time for Spurs to start paying their stars the salaries they could get elsewhere or they will leave for a while. It's not happened but Alderweireld is available for 25m this summer and Eriksen is coming into his final year which is bound to peak some interest.

Like Chelsea's their summer feels very much up in the air. Will they kick on and pay their top performers and tie them down and invest on top of that? Unlikely i would think.

Using money raised from possible sales of Eriksen and Alderweireld seems the most plausible to me but what do Spurs fans think and where will the focus be for players in?

Arsenal

The big question again will be around the level of support the manager will get from the board. He's done well with a limited budget so far and surely deserves some heavier backing this summer.

Much will depend on getting a CL spot I suspect.

Then where do Arsenal strengthen? CM looks to be key with losing Ramsey and having Xhaka. Better options from wide attacking positions would also be high up the list imo.

United

A colossal task imo. At least the pull will remain regardless of European competition.

The defence needs a leader and a right back.

In midfield Herrera is leaving, Pogba wants out supposedly, Matic and Fred have been big flops but likely to be stuck with both. McTominay is at least starting to look like a player. I think they need improve upon 2 CM's personally. Mata is leaving so a number 10 possibly required as well.

In attacking positions, surely moving Sanchez on will be number 1 priority. Those wages needs to be used elsewhere. Gareth Bale.....

Already lacking in RW options so i would expect a winger or 2 to arrive.

Due to the amount of change required, i suspect United will stick with Lukaku and Rashford for another season.

United fans what do you think is needed and what is likely?

And anyone like me who thought Koulibaly would fix a defence in the manor Van Dijk did should probably think again after watching him last night

LFC squad is never complete and no top sides is

a) GK: we could see mingolet want to go and we could i suppose end up with a very unhappy karius on bench after his loan is dumped.

b) RB and LB: moreno goes and clyne gone. We are short of cover. Adam lewis probably isn't up to it? this is an area where cover is required at minimum.

c) Cb: matip might stay or might go. not sure

d) No 6: fabinho and windy seems ok, henderson too

e) no 8. Henderson, ox, kieta... Milner might not re-sign lallana might go or not. i think if we see lallana do this is an area to buy in.

f) RW: salah and shaqiri... is klopp happy?

g) LW: Mane... will we give origi a contract??

h) St: Firmino.... sturridge goes... who will take this role.. brewster? duncan, glatezl or a buy

I can see 3 players coming in.

Liverpool need a new CB, a creative midfielder and someone to replace Sturridge/push Bobby.

We also need replacements for Moreno, Milner and Clyne.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think we need a CB. Gomez is first choice alongside VvD and Lovren and Matip are fine for 3rd and 4th choice players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WRONG
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which bit?

Gomez as first choice partner for VVD or Lovren and Matip as backup?

Back up, lovren can go, plus theres still questions about gomez' ability to stay fit.

Im thinking ideal squad, as ive probably said a billion times, i dont trust the others without vvd next to them

Gomez broke his leg, it's not exactly a recurrent injury!

I'm not against another CB but I'd want them to challenge/replace Gomez rather than replace Lovren as back up. Always interested in improving the first 11.

That said, I think Gomez and VVD really compliment each other and I don't think many teams have better 3rd and 4th choice CBs than Lovren and Matip. Wouldn't be a priority for me.

Should be a lot on the way out for free, moreno studge markovic etc.

Gomez seems injury prone to me cant rely on him if his current records anything to go by. Matip cant play more than one game a week and also picks up little niggles all over his lanky body. And Lovren isnt good enough so im hoping for a top cb who is reliably fit and have gomez/matip/young dutch 16 y/o kid as back up.

Also think we need some top quality talent upfront, young and keen cause doubtful theyll be starting over salah mane bobby etc.

I expect wilson woodburn etc maybe to fill some squad positions but if an opportunity arises like ox or shaqiri im sure klopp will act too.

A Cb and a few atkin talents, maybe a lb as only robbo there if milner leaves with moreno.

Alderweireld for a season or 2 would be nice

I know, but hes still obtained alot of serious injuries in a few years, even if they are impact injuries rather than a niggling ankle issue

Id rather not hve to rely on lovren at any point in the season, i will never trust him. Id rather put my trust in the 16 year old kid atleast if he makes the kind of monumental brain farts Lovren hs down the years i could accept it as hes very young and can actually play football.

posted on 12/4/19

Positionally Lovren is all over the place, always needs 5 yards on a player which means hes never in line which is probably why he only ever looks good in a team that plays deep and has a lot of protection in and around him. On top of that hes just not a very good footballer and often incites panic around him because of it. Taking away all the brain farts over the years theres a lot more goals we conceded because of his inability to play football and his positioning keeping players onside etc or not allowing his partner to play offside traps etc. Saw it the other day vs porto vvd tried to step up and it failed cause lovren was shatting himself dropped 5 yards too deep with no positional awareness of those in and around him either so didnt even cover his cowardice well enough, vvd shouted at him for it too.
