Messi

Still destroying us ten years later.

Remarkable how tonight, at Wembley and In Rome the start of the games were very similar in terms of us being the better team then they took total control, apart from the first leg.

Ole was the last utd player to score at the camp NOU .!!!! Unbelievable.

Anyway atleast we can take the victories against PSG and Juve in the CL.campaign as the highlight.

I really don’t think Messi was that good. Young and De Gea gifted him two goals and that Jones turn and nutmeg combo aside it wasn’t a jizz-worthy performance that McManaman and Lineker were perceiving it to be.

I bet watching him live than on a box is a total different experience

I was lucky enough to witness a Messi masterclass at Wembley earlier in the season.

I don't think Ronaldo is far off in terms of greatness but Messi is just a unique talent. The way he plays just takes your breath away.

I was at Wembley for the final in 2011. I came away disappointed but not too disappointed. We witnessed greatness that night. Just too good.

Best player I've ever seen live and probably will ever see.

Barca are going to face what we have post Fergie when he finally retires. How do you replace him? You can't. He's like 5 great players all in one.

Messi scored a good goal, a very jammy one, and made GI Jones look like an idiot. That was about it for the night.

messi <hype>
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not like he had a quiet game or something. He had 103 touches with only Busquets on 113 having more. He had over half his side's shots with 7 (Suarez and Coutinho who played more advanced had 1 each), hit half his side's shots on target with 3, scored twice, had far more dribbles than anyone on the pitch (and more than the Man U team combined) with 6. It was certainly a MOTM performance with probably only Alba as a challenger.
He got on the ball, he spread the ball around, he linked up play in deep and advanced areas, he rode challenges, he probed in the final 3rd as his teammates buzzed around. You must have impossibly high expectations of Messi if you think that was not a good game and was only "hype"..

Barça won't be able to replace him, but their own footballing model and the domestic duopoly the are a part of mean they shouldn't struggle anywhere near as much as United have.

We all should enjoying Messi as well as Ronaldo. These kind of players are special and we should be proud that they were born in our generation.
