Anyone feelin a bit sorry for City tonight?

Just think it would have been fantastic to beat them in the final

I have mixed emotions on City. The fact they have spent such ridiculous amounts of money along with Chelsea have actually broken Utd’s domination of the league who were the de facto bully boys when it came to big spending. Having said that I like Pep and he was a brilliant choice to put a bit of credibility to City. I like the style he has brought here and he can take some of the credit for what was an incredible game last night.

Looks like well run clubs such as Liverpool, Spurs and Ajax are now challenging the teams that spend more which is good to see. Whether they actually win anything remains to be seen but I think we are seeing the FFP rules having an influence for the better at last.

Lastly, that was stunning from Spurs last night. I really didn’t think they had it in them. Games like those will give them a huge boost. VAR also showing its value in big games

I think it’s great. The CL was definitely City’s number one priority this season, and they fluffed it big time, just like every season they’ve been in it. They may be able to buy the domestic cups, but them and PSG have proved that the CL can’t be bought.

It’s a shame they weren’t playing United this weekend, as I think last night may have knocked the stuffing out of them a bit. Unfortunately, they have the chance of immediate revenge and I think they could batter Spurs.

We should just play the reserves. Why risk more injuries to a depleted squad for a game we will most likely lose anyway? Save the them for mid week.

Your reward for Porto in a QF will be Barca in a SF, the favourites now for sure.

They can be got at though and your attack has the pace to get in behind them. Just depends whether your midfield has to quality to transition.

I feel a bit sorry for them, of course. Football can be very emotional and we've all been in the place City fans are in at the moment. However you know it's just a matter of time for them. Spurs on the other hand, this is massive, into semi finals and a real chance of getting to the final. They've had to put up with no signings, believing they had a title challenging, to them being in a fight for even top four. They deserve a bit of joy.

I wanted City to go through but Peps arrogance cost them. KDB 1st leg bench and sane in both games the Aguero missed pen and no away goal. Fair play to Spurs and Poch 0 money spent and in the CL semi finals.

So much more will City spend this summer because last night than they would have if they had won?

Not one bit

I said a few years ago when Aguero won the league in the last minute for them I wanted Utd to win it

City, PSG are everything that’s wrong with our game and society in general

Mwoah. Can't say I am really. Must admit I actually cheered them on when they won the title under Mancini. Didn't mind the spending in the beginning to catch up with the big boys. But recently the football leaks stories about their questionable sponsorship deals have left me with a bad taste in the mouth.

Also always respected Pep for his football vision, which he says he learned from the great Johan Cruijff, the way he let his teams play etc etc.
However, the amount he has spent on players during his managerial career (last July it was officially over 1 billion!!! pounds, with more than half of that spent as City manager) goes against everything Cruijff stood for, and his claims last year that for his kind of football, the most difficult in the world, he needs the best players in the world, so please mr. Sheik I need to spend more money, I find laughable.

I would like to know if Guardiola has seen Ajax eliminate Real Madrid and Juventus recently with outstanding, beautiful football. An Ajax team with 6 homegrown youth academy players, and the most expensive players are Blind at £14 mill (an ex Ajax player who came through their youth academy anyway) and Tadic for £10 mill.

Now that Ajax team is playing according to the Cruijff philosophy, developing as many youth players you can and play them in the first team, with as little investment as possible, whilst always playing attractive attacking football meant to entertain your fans. Now THAT really is the most difficult kind of football in the world Pep.
