Did we all see wee little sterling slot the ball in for what he thought was his hatrick and run away in celebration....and why wouldn't he, we all know what happened next!
Seeing that made me think about why he left liverpool and what is it, 4yrs later where we are now in comparison. Let me say he was RIGHT to leave at that time, and he has been vindicated because he left to win trophies and he has. However, look now......the team he left is top of the league reached succesive CL semi finals and could make three European finals in three consecutive years with two being the CL.
Our squad has massively improved and our domestic home record cannot be bettered by any in the prem, Anfield is considered by many Europe's hardest away fixture and maybe the only ground where opposition players have openly stated the atmosphere affects their performances.
If we do win something this year then maybe sterling will look back and just wonder to himself, anfield....that crowd...Liverpool in Europe and going for titles again I could have been a hero there....29yrs and over; city cant match the titles, history, aura and European pedigree nor do they generate what makes anfield so difficult for opposition teams. Ah well......u make ur choices such is life; but Anfield for sure is a much happier place than the Etihad

I didn't like the manner of his leaving either, but he's gone, good luck to the boy, he's playing well, but, more importantly, he's nothing to do with us.

All I know is that I am glad we have him. In retrospect, the money City paid for him was money well spent and frankly, an absolute bargain.
Started slow under Pellegrini but Guardiola's impact was noticeable from the offset in terms of his attitude and performance.
He has been immense this season and last. Long may it continue.
Some interesting times ahead for both clubs.
In my opinion, should Liverpool overcome Barcelona in the Semis they will go on to triumph in the Final.

But he would have been poorer staying at Liverpool. He joined City in July 2015 for £180,000 a week after rejecting a £100,000 a week contract to stay at Liverpool. Assuming he would have been on £100K at Liverpool then he would have been about £16 million worse off by staying at Liverpool (£80k x 200 weeks). So not so daft.

Yes but even on £100,000 pw he would’ve still earned £20m.
It’s not as if he couldn’t afford the latest DFS sofa if he hadn’t of moved.
