Some players need a reality check

According to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his press conference this morning, I'm glad he's said it to be honest, Because some of them have had it easy at United over the last couple of years.

Lots just read the headline and not the article

Some very telling things in his quotes there. Especially the one where he put a gauntlet down to players to take ownership on the pitch.

Also the one where he will be looking at the shape of fitness people come back from the summer break in.

================

This isn't the first time in recent weeks that Ole has made reference to fitness-levels.

A number of posters suggested our form would dip later in the season as fitness became an issue, and that seems to have have come true.

I've also long suspected that Martial is not as fit as he was when he first joined. He looks reluctant to run at his FB throughout a game, which is exactly what he was doing in his first season. I think he's pacing himself through games at the moment but the best teams in Europe are now full of running and energy for 90 minutes. I also don't think Martial is quite a lean as he was when he joined, but that's just to my eye.

Berba

One thing I have seen in recent weeks is how lazy all of Lukaku, Martial, Lingard and Rashford are in the box. If something doesn't come off they all stand with their hands on their hips and give up the moment.

Top strikers never give up on a play and chase everything down. They should never ever be stood still in the box until the ball is in the back of the net.

I notice this two, the movement especially from Martial is shocking. Absolute talent but he needs to be getting into the box more with his finishing ability

Ole is right.

The players need to keep their fitness levels up to stand any chance.

It’s no surprise that our rivals as a whole often outplay their opponents because they are fitter and more determined and skilled in their approach to games.

our players individual stats are usually appalling. Enough said.

Clear out the time wasters Ole

So he is echoing now what the boring one was saying to us.
