Eat sheite, Emery

He sabotaged our season today. I've criticized him for this since the start of the season. We went on that long run where we had many dross 1st half performances, but came back strongly with much better 2nd halves. Emery was praised for being proactive with his changes, but I pointed out at the time that while that narrative might have an element of truth, it was only half the story. Part of the reason we had to make all those 2nd half comebacks was Emery's head-scratcher starting selections and tactical formations which he would then have to go and remedy when it was going wrong.

He did it again today. In a weekend where our rivals for top 4 lost, instead of going full tilt to ensure we consolidate that advantage, he chose to tinker with the team with a starting selection that every idiot and his dog knew would struggle in the first half and left us chasing the game in the 2nd.

I could rant about Mustafi who is an abomination of a player, but the number one man responsible for this waste is Emery. I dislike needless erratic tinkering by managers and this has sabotaged our season at a crucial juncture today. Fack Emery seriously.

On the whole I genuinely believe he has had a pretty solid first season at Arsenal, but I think it could have been even better. Seems like he tries to be too clever Sometimes

To be honest, Emery is the total opposite of Wenger in approach. When you knew the Arsenal players that were fit, you could almost always predict Wenger's team selection and formation. Not necessarily because Wenger was predictable, but his selections tended to be the intuitive set-up that most fans would go for.
While Wenger can make a complex game overly simple in his approach, Emery seems to be the type that overcomplicates a simple game. Overthinks things a little too much and this is why he is unable to settle on a true footballing identity for the team. Hence, all the ridiculously disjointed performances away from home.

This is no Emery out article, and I'd like to see him backed fully in the transfer window, but to throw away the position we did today at this critical time in the season is absolutely infuriating.

This is a bit unfair imo. How is he responsible for Mustafi ? Are there better option than Mustafi ? Blame Wenger for buying him in the first place.

That's precisely my point, but there are Wenger critics who have turned into Emery cult supporters who would tell you we are 4th and fighting for the Europa as if it makes Emery beyond reproach for glaringly ridiculous decision-making.

I think you have misinterpreted me or I didn't express that point clearly. The "waste" I meant was throwing away the advantage we should have consolidated on when our rivals for top 4 lost this weekend. I didn't mean Emery was responsible for Mustafi.

Unfortunately today's loss means We have to beat Watford, Leicester and Burnley away.

We have bottled the run in, picking up 3 points from the last 3 games and the apparent fixture advantage we had over our rivals is over now.

We probably have the hardest remaining fixture due to our atrocious away form
