Leeds United

I was a boy that grew up in Manchester....my mum and dad were from Headingley in Leeds, so we used to go to Leeds a lot to see my grandparents. Didn’t take long for me to be hooked on Leeds United. I was absolutely hammered as a kid at school in Manchester not supporting Utd or City....well now that I’m a dad in Canada and try to pass along my love for my team to everyone around me, it makes me realize how unbelievable it is to love a team unconditionally. Most people around me don’t have the love and passion that goes with following a team. I’ve been on edge all weekend thinking about tomorrow’s game....try telling that to some people, they think you’re an idiot.
I’ve had “marching on together “ on Spotify for a while and my kids know the words......one day I hope they realize why it means so much to me...being in the Premier League will help I think.... it’s gonna happen I’m sure of it. I feel 7 points from our 3 games will do it as I think Sheff U will get 5 max 👍
Just want to pass along my best wishes to my fellow 606 ers.....come what may, we all know we’ll be back here talking about it. Let’s hope it’s more good stuff that we’ve enjoyed this year 👍
Prediction for tomorrow? Nah, we’ll be ok. We’re going up.

Trying to explain what football means to someone who doesn't like it is impossible. Or even to a casual fan who will follow a team but don't live every minute or every game.

And 5 from me.

51 years on from that moment I became a Leeds United supporter. A family that hailed from Oldham & Rotherham and a father who supported Aston Villa whilst the rest of his family supported Birmingham City.

Never wavered. Even in the darkest days when our recurring saviour, Mister Bates, played Russian Roulette with our very existence, I never thought I could follow another club. Had we gone I'd have given up football.

I've seen later generations, including my son, switch clubs when the going got tough. Never understood it.

But Leeds United is different. It attracts different people. Their loyalty never ceases to amaze me, we are Leeds United.

I went to school in North Wales not far from where Gary Speed went surrounded by Everton and Liverpool fans then the family moved to South Manchester where I was surrounded by Man U and City fans at school and my mates all thought I was nuts supporting Leeds....I ended up working in Mental health!

I was born in Bolton, was bought a Man U strip as my first football kit at 6 (that still makes me shudder!) and still started following Leeds at the age of 10.
Lived in South Manchester for a long time afterwards - likewise surrounded by City & United fans and now over in North Wales I'm surrounded by Liverpool fans.
It's been like running the gauntlet sometimes!

I still see a pleasing number of Leeds badges in cars, people in town wearing the badge with pride though. If we can push past this last three-game hurdle and get a bit of luck with other results then I'm guessing we'll see a massive upsurge in support.

Born in BMH Rinteln a long time ago, dragged up in Keighley, came back to Germany in 82 with the Army, stuck here ever since!..

Mam and Dad were armchair ManU fans, me and 2 Brothers Leeds, and one ManU brother, lots off fun in the younger years!..

Over here I go to most Vfl Osnabrück games home and away, always have something Leeds on, lots have asked why Leeds United, I always show the Leeds and say here is my Heart, and the Osnabrück and say here is my home!..

Forever Leeds, forever Proud!.
