January Window and Bottling It!

Many comments here today and previously how AR and the club did not do what was needed in January. No one blaming MB. Were any of us in the boardroom in January and know this to be fact? Just guessing? Just stating what MUST have happened?

As for bottling it, I find it quite ironic how many are coming on here and accusing the players of bottling it when it is apparent they are bottling it as fans.

Just two quick thoughts on what I am seeing here today.

In regards to James, the deal was agreed. Swansea came back and wanted to adjust the deal. Leeds agreed. No blame falls on Leeds for that.

A few people seem to have misinterpreted what I was saying. This is not my opinion, this is fact. This is confirmed fact.

Now I have one question. Why would we have other deals going forward when we have an agreed deal, medical done and the lot. You wouldn't. Would you have 3 players doing medicals and then select one at the end? No.

The truth is, you won't see something like that happen again. There is no truth in that Leeds tried to change the deal, they accepted Swansea's late alteration to the AGREED deal and said they would listen to any further changes. This is fact, confirmed by reputable sources, not some guy from Swansea trying to save face after his CEO has quit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The point I was making, is you try and do the deal early, in jan and if you get messed around you move on. Stacks of deals fall through on transfer deadline day.

Even in recent weeks we had really good performances. But we have struggled to convert or create from dead ball situations (corners/free kicks).

There's matches we should have won far easier, but needed 20 shots to score it always felt like.

I think that's slowly been ebbing the confidence of the guys. Plus they looked shattered yesterday.

I don't think a deal for an admittedly good player has defined our season. It's contributed, I think he was just what we needed. But we still had enough to finish the job.

Perhaps there was an agreement earlier in the window but Swansea stipulated a late closing?

Really? Let’s say there was. You’d have all the paperwork inked in before you agreed to it.

I think what happened with our transfer ‘strategy’ was pretty clear Jonny personally, but I wasn’t in on the discussions!

Bielsa was very specific about everything. Perhaps James was the only available player he wanted?

Lots of unknowns here.

Orta brings suggestions to him. Maybe James was the the only one he wanted of those. Not the same thing. There are some unknowns, but its head in the sand stuff to not see the process and the pattern. Clubs with cash and a plan get deals over the line, or get someone else. Leeds deals, bamford being the one exception i can think of, drag on into saga’s every time.

We have the club pulling out of first team regulars’ contract extensions in October.

We don’t have a bean Jonny!
